300 ... & birthday

I changed the header one more time, though I was quite fond of the Starwars landscape header (I might bring it back some other time) but for the moment my Gerry Butler obsession is at its fullest (did I write it correctly? ...have no idea...). After so much hearing (or reading) about how awesome the '300' trailer is I had to see it for myself so I took the courage & waited patiently while the teaser loaded completely (I have dial-up, remember?) and it was soooo worth it!! I really can't wait to see it next year, it's really going to be an amazing movie! Plus Gerry in shorts/underwear or whatever the hell that thing he wears is called. I tried to download the trailer & save it but I wasn't successful so if any of you know of a link that actually works, I'll be waiting! =D
Ok, so tomorrow is November 2nd & it'll be my birthday. I usually don't get all excited as most people do, don't know why, well I can say it's not my 'Day of the Dead' complex anymore. Yes, November 2 is the Day of the Dead ('El dia de todos los muertos' as we call it in Spanish), for all of you wondering WTF!!??!!, it's not a day when Zombies appear!, it's not the freaking 'Dawn of the Dead' movie thing! It is a Catholic festivity when people (living, breathing people) remember those who passed away. The thing is during most of my life I hated it! When people hear that your birthday is on that day they just give you 'the look' which kinda says 'you poor thing, how awful, it's the worst thing ever!!' or 'my God are you going to die & turn into a zombie?!', that sort of look! I always felt mortified by that! It may not seem such a big deal but it is for me. Anyways, I got rid of that feeling a few years ago & I have to thank Mexico & Mexicans for that, I'll explain: it turns out that on that day, as I said before, people remember their loved ones who are not with us anymore and what do they do? They prepare their relatives's favorite dishes and take them to the cemetery, they visit their graves, spend many ours & leave the dishes as a sort of offering or sharing time together as if their relatives where still here. Mexicans also celebrate parades with spooky costumes (like Halloween in the US) for this date. Seeing the way they see the festivity made me change my point of view about November 2, I guess I can say that 'the day of the dead' doesn't bother me anymore (it freaks people out & that's probably not going to change) maybe what I don't enjoy is getting older... xD after all I'm turning 27!! OMFG!! I'm old! but I suppose I can live with that! =)
Ok, I have to leave now and load my icons for the contest #32 at gerrychallenge! Bye everyone!
