I feel funny

Sep 28, 2005 15:35

Well, they've got me on one of these pills that I can only take once a week, and believe me, I'm glad that's all I can take it. I feel really weird right now, and no, I'm not enjoying myself at all at the moment. I hate this feeling a whole bunch. The good news is I only am supposed to have to do it three times. So, maybe I won't feel so funny in a ( Read more... )

You do understand that politicians have nothing to do with a Grand Jury? And that this indictment comes after a string of indictments earlier in the year (pre-katrina)? Point being that this has very little to do with politics.

Now, I will concede that it's back to business as usual in Washington with people pointing the finger and denying blame for what has already happened as opposed to helping things happen now.

You are a good deal more intelligent than me I will concede that as well. But, it's politics as usual and that's what pisses me off. Listen, the Democrats will obtain power once more, don't worry about that. And yes, the string of indictments was pre-Katrina. Don't think that because I'm not quite as intelligent I don't realise that. My point is that the timing is all too perfect. I don't even think that Tom Delay shouldn't be indicted right now. I do think he should reap consequenes for what he's done. My point, is that I haven't seen enough from either side, rather I've seen plain and simple politics. One because of race, and two because of region. Don't get me wrong, it's not just an attack on Democrats right now. It's anger them all, each and every one whether Democrat or Republican. I cannot stand Tom Delay, and G.W. is nothing more than backstabbing hypocrite who would sell his own mother for enough power. I'm just saying that there is an undeniable link right now with the timing of the situation, and that is just something I ( ... )

I'm not saying that it *isn't* business as usual. And I'm certainly not insulting your intelligence. Nor so I say things I don't believe. I say that it's probably not linked because it's a felony to interfere with a grand jury. That includes pushing timing for political effect.

How man grand juries in this matter are picked though without politics being involved. I appreciate the idea that you don't see the two as linked and I can see how you gather that idea. Still, it just seems real, real convenient. Listen, I'm a cynic and a conspiracy theorist way too much to drop the thought that there may in fact be a link. For that, Jeff, I applaude you. You have a more optimistic and more postivie view towards the events than I do. Please, do not take this response as snide and sarcastic, because I'm honestly being very sincere when I say that. I always am skeptical about things and never, never take them at face value ( ... )

I don't think the two are linked for this one and only reason:

If I were a democratic DA who wanted to push an agenda, I would drop that story RIGHT FUCKING BEFORE the elections. After the primary, when it's SET that he's gonna run. I'd talk the DNC into running a strong candidate there, and DeLay would be in court the whole time he should have been campaigning.
