I've heard "Whatsername" on the radio (95.50, WBRU) quite a few times lately, and apparently the song has been released as the sixth American Idiot single

then again, as long as they don't make a video for it (which they most likely won't) i doubt it'll become another WMUWSE or BOBD. because it usually gets way overexposed by being shown on tv, not as much the radio and stuff.

i think it's just something to hold the masses over for a while once they enter the studio.

although, as someone that's permanantly inked with "whatsername" on her back, the fact that they chose to release it as a single ticks me a little bit.

Doesn't bother me. Whatever gets released as a single, it won't change the music. This is my band, and their music means too much to me for anyone to take anything away from how I feel about it.

I kind of agree with you, though. 5 Singles is a lot from one album... but then again, I'm never one to say no to more Green Day.
