You guys know how much I love this show, right? So I gotta be honest and say that I felt like today's episode just kept d-r-a-g-g-i-n...g along. Things could have been a bit more consolidated, yeah?
So let's keep this recap short and sweet. :-)
Carly decides she's going to tell Jack to move out so that he can take care of Janet and the baby till the baby is born. Where the logic is in this whole scenario, I have yet to find out; apparently the Oakdale Brain is evading Carly as well as Janet now. Of course, it's a half-cover for Parker, because Carly's thinking that the farther away Jack is from the two of them, the better their chances of not blowing the whole situation by telling Jack the truth about Parker and Gabriel's fistfight before the fire at Monte Carlo.
So Carly and Jack have some scenes in which Carly insists that she's trying to save their relationship by pushing Jack away, and Jack stares at her the entire time as though she's got lobsters crawling out of her ears. Jack = O_o but he agrees to leave anyway, and the poor guy resigns himself to sleeping at the station. It ain't the Hilton, but it's got free cable, at least! :-P
Carly and Parker continue to go back and forth about the whole subject of lying to Jack, because Parker is not handling things very well. The moment he hears that Jack is moving out, he's ready to burst. Carly once again convinces him to keep his mouth shut, and he reluctantly agrees. However, the preview for tomorrow has Jack sitting with Parker and Faith at Java, trying to get down to the bottom of all of it. I suspect Parker is going to finally let it all out then.
Meanwhile, Jack gets a call from Eddie, Janet's brother. Jack starts telling Eddie about the inheritance from Pop and how Janet was all giddy over it, and Eddie tells him there was no inheritance to begin with. Jack is all sorts of ?? so he tells Eddie he will look into it and get back to him.
Liberty enlists Dusty's help in finding out who Gabriel really is. PS - "Friendbook"...it gets me every time! :-P So the two of them basically break into Gabriel's room at the Lakeview, but they find next to nothing about Gabriel (who's still in surgery at Memorial for a collapsed lung). Liberty decides to take the pearls from Gabriel's mother (the ones he always carries with him), just in case they can help Gabriel recover. Janet finds Liberty at the hospital and is worried that she hasn't eaten and looks very pale, so she orders Libby Lu away from Gabriel's empty room to get some food together.
Jack confronts Dusty in Old Town about the supposed inheritance from Pop, and at first Dusty tries to play it off like he knows nothing about it. Jack doesn't believe him and keeps telling Dusty that the whole point of Janet being on her own is to be independent. Dusty says that with this money, she now can be. So the two of them shake for silence on it, though Jack makes no promises to keep quiet about it forever.
Earlier in the day, Janet and Dusty have a run-in at Janet's new apartment, where a delivery guy mistakes Dusty for the landlord and asks him to sign for a new washer/dryer installation for Janet's apartment. As soon as Janet is out of earshot, Dusty signs the release and pays the delivery guy to make sure the installation goes well.
There was also a funny scene (not funny haha, but funny *facepalm*) where Janet went to the station just to tell Jack she was all moved in and happy, and she sees his overnight bag and figures out that Carly kicked him out. She gets upset and says, "I moved out so that things between the two of you would be good again!" and then promptly invites Jack to move in with her. HA! Luckily, Jack is like, "I don't think that's gonna help me and Carly," and Janet is all, "Oh. Right." Ha. :-P
So Margo convinces Tom to take on Craig's case. Oy. They have a sit-down at the Lakeview to discuss details, and Craig tells Tom that he didn't try to kill Gabriel. Tom is wary of Craig at first, because he thinks Craig is worse than anyone else he's ever represented, but Craig manages to convince him that he's innocent of the murder charge. (It seems funny to me that they were talking about murder even though Gabriel is still alive. Don't they mean attempted murder? Or is that the same as Murder I? I'm not a lawyer by any means...) Craig wants to focus on the whole "head-banging" incident (note: I just had a vision of Gabriel listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and rocking it out a la Wayne's World, LOL!) and says he'll even take a polygraph test to prove that he is not the one who hit Gabriel that day. Tom is optimistic when he talks to Margo later, and I think it's pretty much a done deal that he's going to help Craig with his case now.
The episode ends with Carly feeling very flustered with everything, because Parker has left the house in search of some air and time to clear his head. She makes a call to find out when the next AA meeting is, and Craig shows up at her doorstep, claiming his need to talk to her about Parker. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN.
And that's that! More on this all tomorrow, with a little bit of craziness with Emily and Eliza happening. I think Emily gets hijacked or something...some dude just shows up, grabs her, and pulls her away from the car while she screams about Eliza still being in the car. O_O Wtf is going on there?! Till tomorrow!
Gabriel, re: today's episode:
So you think you can stone me and spit in my e~ye?!
So you think you can love me and leave me to d~ie?!
Ohh, baby...can't do this to me, baby...just gotta get out, just gotta get right out of he~re...
Hey, the lyrics kinda fit his situation! Freddie Mercury = ♥
