"I'm Allergic to Morons" - Today's Recap, 2/18/10

Feb 18, 2010 15:25

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...if Dusty were really allergic to morons, he'd have to avoid half of Oakdale's population, wouldn't he? :-P

If not, he'd definitely have to avoid Liberty. HAHA!

So, let's start with Dusty and Janet. Dusty does his own bit of P.I. work and calls Janet's father (who is affectionately known as "Pop") to talk about Liberty. Pop hangs up on him without a second thought, so Dusty goes to Ciccone Hardware, Janet's father's store, to bust some heads. This is one of the reasons why I love Dusty. He doesn't let obstacles get in the way of helping the people that he truly cares about. He's a good guy to have in your corner during a crisis.

Dusty Donovan, Oakdale's own Mr. Fixer-Upper!

So, it works. Pop agrees that he and Mrs. Ciccone are going to get tested to see if they're a match for Liberty, and Janet thanks Dusty by drowning his lips in her own. :-)

But I gotta say, I'm liking them together now. Obviously their romp in the sack at New Year's wasn't just that. They have legitimate feelings for each other, and these feelings just keep growing. And they look good together. SO THEY SHOULD JUST BE TOGETHER, DAMMIT. Maybe that would tone down more than half of Liberty's temper tantrums and/or whiny episodes, because those usually take place when Jack is in the room with her.

But speaking of Liberty, I actually really enjoyed her today! Haha. I liked her cancer jokes. (Wow, that's all kinds of wrong, lol. But you know what I mean.) She was very cute with Parker, and he was very sweet with her. Though I agree with Carly and Jack that Parker should not be putting off his physical therapy sessions just because Liberty needs help with her homework. His heart is in the right place, but he can't sacrifice himself.

And speaking of hearts in the right place, let's talk about Carly and Jack! They're trying oh-so-hard to keep their distance, they really are. Carly a little more so than Jack, even. It hasn't been working so far, and today was only the first day they finally agreed to stay away from each other, but at least they have an understanding. Though I have a feeling that their agreement is going to go out the window once Carly spills the beans about Janet's liplock with Dusty. If she gets to tell Jack, that is. I have a feeling that Molly is going to try to talk her out of it.

And sneaky Molly is sneaky today! She dissolves into coughs to get Lily out of the room so she can photograph the diary Damian gave Lily and steal a picture of the two of them from its pages. Now something's going down with the ring Damian was wearing in the pic...it suddenly just showed up on Lily's doorstep later today, with a note from Damian saying goodbye. Hmm. Interesting, no?

And Damian! Maltese police have positively identified his body...and he's dead. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. I do not believe this for a second. :-P I'm still waiting for my seaweed-drenched Damian-fainting scene in Lily's living room. :-)

And Luke! What is this news going to do to him? This might be mean, but I wanna see Luke lose his shit. I really do. I want Luke to flip his lid - shouting, crying, the whole nine yards - because I know that Van would totally rock a scene like that. I love Van-crying scenes, because he does it so well. And Luke's been struggling so hard to keep everything inside - everything concerning Damian, everything that went down with his family (Lily, Meg), and everything that's going on with Noah right now. It makes total sense that Luke would momentarily go off his rocker and just let it all out. Preferably when Noah is there with him so he can comfort Luke after all's said and done. :-)

And Holden, WTF?! I loved the fact that he wanted to turn himself in, and I understand why Molly talked him out of it (she had a point about the whole no-evidence thing), but what's bugging me is that Holden is NOT thinking about Luke in this whole scenario! I completely get why Holden would want Damian out of the picture forever. I don't blame him for feeling that way. But Holden's not taking Luke's feelings into consideration here. Yes, Holden may want Damian dead, but Luke surely does not. And Luke's feelings are ripping him up inside right now! Gah, Holden. Go spend some time with your son! And tell him the truth. Tell him that you got into a fight with Damian at the docks! Better Luke hears it from you, instead of from Damian later.

Holden's got Blind!Noah Complex right now...where he makes you want to hug him, smack him upside the head, and then hug him again. :-P

And Lily is the worst mom ever. LULZ. She only spends, like, five seconds with her kids, and then is like, "Okay, well, get out of my face now, sweetie. There's a DVD in the next room with your name on it." HAHAHAHAHA. The only "kid" she spends any amount of time with is Luke. :-)

And Ethan is SO DAMN CUTE. Oh, God, I love that kid. His hug with Holden was so freaking adorable I almost fell off the couch. :-) And when they came in from the birthday party together? OMG I NEED TO BREATHE INTO A PAPER BAG. So fricking cute.

:-D

I'm getting ansty for my Nuke. BRING OUR BOYS BACK! You OWE it to us, ATWT, after putting us through all the Mick crap!

:-)
