Take me and hate me for all I care,
Blame me and break me if you dare.
I may seem like I don’t understand
But you’ll find that I’m not bland.
And when I find myself before you,
The kind of thing I’d like to do,
Is tell you how I came to realise,
That you were a wolf in disguise.
Disgusting things go through my head,
When I remember what you said
About being my eternal love,
A steel hand in a velvet glove.
The way you looked, the way you smiled
And how your eyes blanked out my mind
How could I be so blind!
Crimson tears falling around me
Touching my lips to comfort me
Searching my mind only to find
That it is filled with anger and hate
Look at my face ! Isn’t it great ?
And what have you done to deserve this?
Better even! What did you miss?
What went wrong in your perfect schemes,
To let you forget a woman screams
When she is left to face reality,
And shown how men are pure cruelty.
Promises are vain, for they are but words
Stuck together to sound like birds.
So where you hear a nightingale’s song,
Make sure you see the vulture beyond.
