Legong, Japanese food and an interesting beverage

Hey all here's another update and I just noticed that the computers at this Internet place all run Ubuntu! w00t!

Last night we went to see a Legong performance. Holy crap was it awesome! The performance included live gamelan music, dancing girls that sometimes performed very precise mirrored movements of each other, a dancing and gamelan performing guy, dancing demons, ghosts, trees, and some others. So cool! I took a bunch of photos & videos, but because of the movements I'm not sure how well they all turned out.

After the performance we headed for dinner @ a Japanese restaurant that has a few branches throughout Bali. I had a chirachi, miso soup, a tall beer and C had baked rice balls and a lemon juice drink. The whole meal was around $12 and was the tastiest melt-in-your-mouth sushi I've ever had.

We then headed back to Ketut's place, drank some arak (the Balinese kind which is very different than the Arabic kind) and played "butterfingers" while watching an episode of the Office on the PSP.

This morning I went down to attend the cooking class but found out that Ketut's wife had cancelled it because she was scared of C's allergy and the other person attending cancelled on her. She said tonight she'd let me know if we can do it tomorrow instead. I did pick up a cookbook yesterday, so if I can't get the class at least I'll have that.

We headed down to the marketplace this morning and on the way stopped at a street cart and for about 50 cents had a very interesting murkey beverage. It was made from muddling some leaves, water, tumeric and honey. I decided to pass on the optional raw egg just in case. ;)

Tonight we are going to attend a shadow puppet performance and tomorrow will be mostly shopping and packing. I can't believe we're headed back for the land of snow.
