i love that tv show Sons & Daughters. y'know, with Amanda Walsh from MuchMusic. i don't love it because of her, although i do like her sneering, snotty, cut-eye poses.
i like it because its f'n hilarious. there's so much angst and quick-lipped blabber. the family talks about everything and they get so riled up about stuff. they're mostly idiots, except likable idiots or at least charismatic morons. harmless, sunny and splashed with embarrassment. that's the feel of the show.
it's so unlike my upbringing, where everything was carefully thought out. people in my family expressed themselves only when they had fully condensed their opinions into finely tuned articulate speeches, delivered will a calm demeanor and received by the audience with pointed interest, yet a watchful, sideways glance. pondering. formulating questions. testing the thesis. proclaiming significance. or rejecting.
so that's all. no big ending or anything.
