So this weekend mom and I went test-driving and price shopping for cars. After extensive internet price shopping, we went to Toyota of Orange yesterday, and then North County Toyota (on Euclid and the 91). We were talking to the saleguy's "manager" at North County Toyota and at one point he said "I'm not very good with numbers." Yeah. And then after asking him for one, the biggest lie I've ever heard: "I don't have a calculator."
Are you kidding me?
He gave us some flim-flam about how taking their higher price with the lower interest rate would save me money and blah blah blah. He even had some "computer printouts" with numbers all over the place which "automatically" calculated payments to demonstrate the difference. We wrote the numbers down and went home, and after looking at the numbers and recalculating it turns out he was lying by about $1.000. Lovely.
So we went back to Toyota of Orange with a mind to negotiate at least down to the CarsDirect price, which we did, except for the Anti-Theft...which I'm not sure was worth it or not, but less than $10 difference monthly. BFD. It makes beepies and flashies.
So, meet my new car...Midnight!
La lala! Standard A/C CD/FM, power mirrors, rear defroster.
I am mobile!!!
