Common fears people seem to have
- Death
- the Dark
- travelling to foreign countries alone (?)
- taking on a gender-abnormal roles (taking lead in dancing, participating in an otherwise-all-male engineering group)
- going back to school as an adult
- having a (99% survivable) form of cancer (aren't there infections diseases that are more dangerous?)
Fears I actually have
- making other people unhappy or uncomfortable
- losing my mind
- being around guys that find me attractive
- finding parking downtown
People have commented about how they think I'm brave for various things, but really, it's only bravery if you're actually afraid. And actually, I'm a wuss.
But I drove downtown today. See, I'm trying! .__.;
Actually, I used to be afraid of the dark as a kid, but I was brave and logical and got over it... to the point that I'm now comfortable letting my eyes adjust and not bothering with the light switch a lot of the time. (And then my mom yells at me for not turning on the lights.)
