Well. No news, to be honest. =)
The weekend was a total success. Nat came down to visit and we spent the entire day trouncing around NYC without a care in the world. MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) was absolutely amazing, and as cliched as it sounds, I got a thrill out of seeing the original 'Starry Night' by Van Gogh. Also saw some original Rothko paintings (one of my favorite artists) as well as a whole gallery of Matisse (not so much of a favorite).
Also, the discussion behind Dali's famous 'limp clock' painting? Totally out there.
I'm also in love with a store called Takashimaya, which translates to 'House of Takashima' from Japanese. It's an uber-kisch store located on 5th ave (shocker), and the styles and products in there are quintissential Asian. I was in heaven. We decided to have afternoon tea there, and the experience was positively sublime -- a fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. =) Of course, tea and the east-west sampler was about all I could afford anyhoo. ;)
Today, I decided to -- put purple-ish streaks in my hair. Don't ask. Actually, I didn't exactly make a full commitment; I used this stuff from L'Oreal that washes out in 8-10 shampoos.
I hope. o_O
Either way, it wound up looking really cool and fun.
