This journal thing is tough - gotta remember it's not some big production, it's just a posting of thoughts and musings.

I've been riding my bike this week and it's kicking my ass! It's powered by my own two little legs that haven't seen so much work in a long time. I rode to work Monday, then to South Seattle to get my car that had been left there over the weekend. Then, my fears came true and my car was undriveable. I had gotten my bike in the back and the guy from the shop next door asks in my general direction "are you gonna fix your flat?" I looked behind me to see who he was talking to and then stupidly asked "me?" Fortunately the shop, Auto Carriage of Seattle (I thought it was some sort of delivery service or something) is in fact an autobody shop. He offered to fix my tire, but he couldn't get to it until the next day. I wasn't going to make it to yoga that day, but I did ride through downtown to the UDistrict Rudy's to get a haircut, then rode home after a quick stop to Gregg's cycle to get my tires filled. I slept well that night, let me tell you. When I went back to pick up my car, the guy offered to help me fix some other problems with my car so I can drive after dark again! It's been tough having a fiery social life without being able to drive after 9:30 - I don't know what I would do if it were winter. I would effectively have a curfew of 5 or earlier.
I'll be fire-dancing with a friend at a fourth of July party, which could be good or bad. It'll be interesting dancing to a live Jazz trio after the fireworks. This firedancing hobby is definitely providing opportunities I would not have had before. I can't believe I'll actually get to burn at Burningman! And I'll be there with scads of other folks who burn, too. Quite a few people have tried to talk me into going to Pheonixfest, but I have the feeling that one crowded fire party in the wilderness is good enough for me. Maybe I'll wait to make a sure decision until I figure out my options for that weekend.

Strawberries rock - had some tasty chocolate covered ones at the Fremont Fair, then found a quart/$1 at the market today. Score!

Gotta ride my bike to Fremont before I head to the Mariner's game (free ticket with friends, why the hell not go? Hopefully they win!) Go M's, or something like that.
