1st day...
5pm-12am Saturday
i get to work and all is well, im shown how to work the register and life is gravy ((is there vegetarian gravy??)) im shown which cups are used for what, how to work the frosty machine, etc.
at around 8 oclock, the dinner rush comes in. bunches of orders...i screw a few up. refunds are made.
Diabetes Man comes in complaining about how his girlfriend is having a diabetic attack in the car, so he wants a plain single with cheese (cost 2.19$) he pays for this with a 100$ bill. so while Kellie is going as fast as she can to make all the orders for both drive through and dining room, i have to go to the back to get a manager so he can run the pen over the 100$ to verify that it isnt counterfit ((i have to do this for all 50$'s and 100$'s)). he finally stops being all jittery when he gets his sandwhich and runs out the store. then he comes back in THREE FUCKING TIMES. now, if his gf is ACTUALLY having an attack as bad as he claims, she wouldnt be able to CHEW. besides a coke contains more sugar and would be better. and, if she's so bad off,it wouldnt matter if the order was wrong ((it wasnt btw)). *sigh*
then some woman came in and claimed that two days prior, she orderd four fresh fruit salads and payed around 18$ for them, and had orderd them from me. my manager told her this was my first night, so her claim was absurd, but still refunded her money to get her to shut up. he later told me that she comes in all the time demanding refunds but has never bought anything.
then this WONDERFUL family came in, they could tell it was my first night and told me i was doing wonderfully because my first night was a heavy night and i wasnt used to this kind of stress. they even tried to hand me a 5$ tip, unfortunatly i had to refuse because if my manager had caught mem i should have been fired on the spot. little did i know, they called my manager later at the store told him what happend and how sweet i was and Will said i should have taken the money, he would have.
2nd night...
8pm-11pm Monday
i had like THREE customers. so easy. no problems, no stress, it was great.
at the end of my shift my manager of the night (Doug) called me back to the office and tols me my till was short 10$. i assured him i didnt take it, but he still made me empty my pockets. low and behold all he found was lint. i still get a written citation though. i almost cried when he told me. behind choked back tears i squeked out a "yes sir" and went back to vacuuming and scrubbing the floor.
3rd night...
8pm-11pm Tuesday ((Tonight!))
they had me train the new cashier. WTF??? ive only been there three days!!! but id basically learned everything there was to cashiering, and i had fun. not to many customers, my till was perfect, and i half-assed vacuumed the carpet. only because Jada wouldnt let me get away with sweeping the carpet. Rebecca (the new girl) scrubbed the lobby floor for me so we both got out on time.
btw, refrain from using the bathrooms. i "clean" them, but not as well as i should because im phobic about germs and i dont want to deal with butt-germs. its gross. i basically spray and flush. good enough right?? but i use the Comet with Bleach, so it should be ok.
what have i learned so far?? Doug is a dick and im glad hes from another Wendy's so i dont have to deal with him EVER again. Jada is awesome and im sad she's from a differnt store. and Will is pretty cool. but im nervous around him. he seems the type where i'll have to file a sexual harassment claim.
i cant wait until next monday (July 11th) i get a pay check. my hard earned work. i will get payed. i will open a bank account. i will buy a cell phone and some better shoes for work, because the ones i have arent quite as non-skid as they claim. and i will buy my own ticket to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'll try to donate money to Gillian for her Gay Straight Alliance or whatever shes needs money for and i'll try to send some robyn's way because food is good.
the idea of having money in my poecket pleases me
