How are you all doing? I hope all right…. I apologize for it not being individual letters and for not giving you an update before this but time is tight….
Aunt Rose is still in MICU…. She has multiple skull fractures and is fighting off pneumonia in both lungs and has an infection in the blood. The doctors did have to do brain surgery and had to remove some of the damaged tissue. (scary) The nurses have not painted a very good scene. On Monday the family had a meeting and if there is not any improvement in the next few days the family will request that she be taken off life-support. She has been running a temperature as high as 106 degrees. The nurses told us that she would be like a 2 year old. The doctors will not give us that prognosis… they just say they need more time to assess the damage. Uncle Dave and Aunt Terry assure the family that Rose would not want to live like that…. It is just that you hate to give up hope.
Uncle Don is hoping for that miracle. Matt knows about all of this and is holding strong…. He keeps telling me that his mom is a fighter and that he is not ready to be parentless. I am very sad to have to be writing this… it just doesn’t seem real until you go into the ICU and see her.
