I dropped her off today, well she dropped herself off really, at the Academy. I have never been prouder of someone. She has jumped through hoop after hoop to get to this point...and still has a long (4 month long) road ahead of her. But she is one hell of a strong woman and I have no doubt she will do fine.
Now I am tasked with taking care of business here. I've never been on the receiving end of someone I love and have made a life with being gone for an extended time. I'm usually the one leaving. It's really weird and it's only been a few hours. I know it's sad and sappy, but I do miss her. And I can't wait for her to come home, even if it's just for a moment at a time.
And now I'm just trying to clean things up a little. And deal with the bullshit that is living. For any of you out there that doubt this woman, FUCK YOU. She's 10x the person you and I are.
