The good news is I got a bunch of photos sorted and cropped -- and got my WS_FTP fixed (turns out it probably fixed itself with the next time I turned on the computer, and the tech support guy just reset my password for nothing) and uploaded the pics worth sharing.
But I'm tired out and have work in a few hours and need a nap a lot more than I need to be posting and captioning photos. So, next time. (At least they're uploaded and I'm down to just the journal entry.)
Oh, hey, just a few.
This is the raised garden bed I assembled this morning, with a lot of pounding but thankfully no splinters. (The joints weren't perfectly cut out, but I can't fault the sanding.) Now I just need to dump in compost and soil, and then transplant the blueberry bushes and a few herbs. Probably not mint or lavender, so they don't take over -- but I think it's a prime spot for tulips, and I have so many daffodil bulbs in need of planting a few will probably wind up there.
Okay, I also got some knitting done with my accidental days off (meant to take the time off after Thanksgiving for getting the tree up and the cards done, as per usual, and mishandled the calendar when setting the dates). So might as well show that off as well.
Finished these yesterday, so I'm pleased. Time to move on to something else involving colorwork -- and I frogged and restarted my
Snowflake Mitts this morning, bumping up the needle size to something more comfortable.
This is my visiting-with-Grandma project, so it's creeping along. The second goes faster because I don't have to keep trying it on and second-guessing myself.
This has been my plain stockinette project for weeks, so I've gotten some progress made.
Okay, I'll go ahead and share my three Halloween photos as well, just so I can close the folder...
The wreath is new, and Mom's. She got a pair of wreaths, sticking one beside the front door. I've been so short of energy and focus lately that I barely got the living room decorated a week before Halloween (or was it merely the weekend before?) instead of having everything up at the start of the month.
Here's a project that looks good because I've been working on it for a while. My garden produces herbs and flowers to dry, and also some spices come in packets instead of sealable jars. I needed containers and Michael's was selling them in a variety of shapes and styles, for very cheaply, so I bought many. Subtle blackboard labels on the backs tell what the true contents of each jar are (along with the harvest or purchase date). Much browsing on Etsy got me several collections of labels to use for decorating my bottles, and when the adhesive paper I'd gotten turned out not to work with my printer I acquired some Mod Podge supplies for affixing regular paper labels to glass. Here are my jars and bottles set out to dry...
And here's Grandpa's old glass-fronted bookcase, filled with witchy jars and thematic figurines. Note the rainbow unicorn horn lying on the top shelf, and the Egyptian glass bottles lurking behind it. The skeletal cat is a temporary Halloween addition. I suspect that bottom level is going to wind up with my hardcover knitting books joining the small collection of gardening books that's already there. (The knick-knacks atop the cabinet are going away into their storage container till next October -- I normally stick my purse and lunchbag up there.)
And, right. To bed!
