At least the pounding noises from overhead are finished.

I was actually very responsible on Sunday and hit the gym and the grocery store on the way home from work. And then I got home and passed out, plants unwatered and teeth unbrushed.

Monday I awoke well before dawn, which was good because it gave me time to shower before Mom needed to, but bad because I was already worn out by afternoon (and I spent the morning reading). But there's not much I would have gotten done anyway, because of the roofers.

I should have cropped this house photo a little more closely to the roof. But what you're looking at is a roof stripped of its old shingles. And a big orange water cooler sitting on the chimney.

So the day was filled with pounding noises coming from above, and alarmed pets shut into the house when they wanted to flee. (I had worrying visions of Rupert going into the attic through the hole in the side of the chimney and winding up sealed in, since they were supposed to be fixing that hole. Only it appears they didn't.) I couldn't do any real gardening due to the crap drifting down from the edges of the roof (though at least I watered the container garden) and didn't get the rabbit cage cleaned for the same reason. I should have at least done the laundry and dishes and maybe some computerage, but I spent the morning reading and the afternoon out of gas.

And then I woke around 11:30 last night to Mom telling me she was on the way to bed and no, the roofers hadn't actually finished up and were coming back today. So there went my chance to catch up on the outside tasks this morning when it was cool and I had the energy to get shit done. At least I went ahead and fussed over my roses just after dawn, when the roofers were arriving but not getting started yet. And I got my laundry and the dishes taken care of.

I wound up turning on the TV this morning and getting that second toe finished and the foot pattern begun.

Creeping my way to the end of the ball of self-striping yarn, at which point I'll need to start doing some colorwork to match the first sock.

And here I am with tonight off work, to go see Dad in. Need to get out the door soonish...

I realized after looking at my folder of mani photos I'd done this same color scheme earlier this summer, only with added leopard-spotted accent nails. Repetitive of me, but I liked the color scheme and didn't feel like fussing with it last week.

Today is something I've had in mind for a while -- nude polish with black lace decals. I only put decals on three fingers, so it's a very delicate look.

And, right. As soon as I hit post on this entry, I'm about done with the computer for today. I need to visit Grandma but I was planning on doing that on my way to Dad's. I need to water the container garden. And I need to clean the rabbit cage -- which is the most time-consuming thing and the one I'm most tempted to postpone till tomorrow. I might just do half of it, pushing the sweeping and vacuuming over onto tomorrow. Yeah, there's a chance of rain tomorrow, so I really should at least get the outdoors parts out of the way today. I can vacuum while it's raining, but I don't need to find myself with an excuse not to clean the cage tomorrow afternoon when I get home...
