So.... you know its bad when the radio informs you of a Tornado emergency...

And then of course Dad offers to stay and Tuscaloosa, but you say "No that's okay the radar looks clear for now-- we can make Birmingham"

And then you see an exit for a couple cheaper hotels on North Birmingham...

But decide to go to the next exit because there are more restaurants and your tired and thats the last room available.

.....

So then we go over to O'Charley's for dinner and they hand us our beer and then tell us to move away from the window and then the lights go out and your phone's yelling "Tornado Warning for--"

We got to hear it pass over from the O'Charley's freezer.

The two hotels that we almost stayed at were completely demolished with all vehicles.

Had we stayed there or Tuscaloosa I would have lost everything I owned (cuz the only reason we're there is we're on the road and I'm moving with all my stuff...)

We were fine... Thank God.. but there wasn't electricity until we got to Tennessee. My prayers go out to everyone else caught out (one family had survived through the other hotel as the roof was ripped off over them).
