Really subconcious? REALLY?
Okay....
Fours years I take French.
Four years I hear how you know you're getting into a language.
Four years I try journals, shows, reading, culture... and still never dream, never get the grasp, pretty sincerely and miserably fail and learning. (Two years of Japanese the same way).
And THEN last night....
I swear to God I dreamed in fluent French....
As in I was in France or Montreal or "some non-existent French only place"
And in the dream I didn't speak it, but ended up losing our car, trying to move, and having to ask/talk to/interview etc people... in French... and go to stores and in the dream remember thinking "I actually understand what they're saying!"
And this lady's talking to this man, and I remember grasping everything and I start talking to her in French and I'm thinking (wow I'm speaking it perfectly! I can't believe I actually am getting the hang of it)
And I woke up...
And didn't remember how to...
But I do remember that it did seem to be grammatical, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't gibberish... I remember bits of sentences, and like the "idea" which is normally what I can grasp (I can get that you put this here, and this here, and this here... but I can never remember the vocab words/etc... I really suspect I might have some sorta dysleixa because thats the only thing I've ever heard discribed that sounds like what happens to me in language classes... I get it... I do... but I start trying to utilize it and it all gets jumbled no matter if I know what should go there."
Point being?
.....I had an entire dream in French---
FOUR FREAKING YEARS SINCE I'VE TAKEN THE LANGUAGE.
EXPLAIN?????
If I start dreaming in Japanese.... I'm gonna start thinking I really am psychic or a wizards or something -.- Now that ya know... Dresden files has explained why apparently every electronic device I'm in five metres of dies
