I spent the past few days canoeing down the Green River in Utah, a phenomenal river flowing calmly through deep canyons into Canyonlands National Park. The trip had many highlights, but I want to share this one before I forget

Have you ever seen a video of peregrine eyasses getting banded at a skyscraper nest? The 2007 banding at San Jose City Hall, I think Jose and Clara scratched the guy’s helmet a few times. Honestly, I don’t know how those men do it at City Hall without a second guy to wave a broom at the parents. But yeah, those things are fearless to defend their young, even against animals bigger than them.

Sounds great. I wanted to go to the thing in Oakland on Thursday, but I flew home that morning and I was exhausted. It looked awesome though.
