Two neat things

One of my favorite radio shows to listen to is The Lazy Environmentalist on Lime Radio. Today, they were talking about two really neat things.

First, was RecycleBank.  It is this awesome private company that does city recycling. The weight of how much each household recycles is recorded when picked up each week, and then converted into reward points that can be redeemed at various local and national businesses. It is like getting them money for taking cans in for recycling, but it is all curbside. For those of you who don't have curbside recycling in your area (like me) you can go to http://www.recyclebank.com/register.cfm to let RecycleBank know that you would like their service in your city.

Second is GoodSearch. This is a Yahoo based search engine that gives $0.01 to a charity of your choice, for each search you do through their site. An effortless way to give on a small scale.
