see, this is why i hate FB. *I* want to decide what to see, not a FB algorithm.
mmadamimadamm @mmadamimadamm @shoshannastone Why? *she asks with a quivering lip* We want to see EVERYTHING Adam has to say.
shoshanna stone @shoshannastone @mmadamimadamm I think that it puts a lot of people off too....
mmadamimadamm @mmadamimadamm @shoshannastone To what end though? Adam's fans are international & interested in ALL Adam has to say, whether it affects their area or not!
shoshanna stone @shoshannastone @mmadamimadamm but you are talking about ALL his Facebook followers and the experts disagree that they actually do all want that
and the experts disagree that they actually do all want that
lol what experts are that? The fandom is international and all it does is people who can see the post(s) will just screencap it and post it for all the scorned to see.
tbh i follow some artists i'm casual fans of, and if i saw muse for instance signing inserts for a few super-deluxe cds i'm not interested in, or they posted when they were going to be on tv in other countries and there was a lot of that i might unfollow.
Yeah, I can see now how that would be annoying. I admit I didn't think of people who use FB regularly. I only ~use it to look at and Like Adam's comments. :D
how about getting an accurate picture of adam's fanbase in each area by monitoring social media space which will give them insights for adjusting their overall strategy? it makes sense to me
i know it seems like there are some glitches in the execution of this on adam's facebook (some people not seeing the post of him signing albums for example) but as far as geo blocking posts in general - casual fans (who are the majority of adam's facebook audience as well as the audience his team is most interested in capturing) don't care about every little thing adam is saying and doing, for example tv shows they can't even tune into. they don't want people to stop following his account because they feel flooded or spammed with information irrelevant to their interests. hardcore fans that participate in fandom will get the information no matter what. also ia with what nonny above said about monitoring the audience in specific areas.
i still think it's a flaw in FB. it should let me tick a box: show me everything, show me regional content, show me what mark zuckerberg things is important.
but that is not shosh's problem lol i get that. as a stan tho i think the geoblocking sucks.
okay, I can see the point. I was one of the people who couldn't see the post of him signing the booklets and I've seen tweets that even US people can't see the NYC event or Jimmy fallon posts. So yeah, I hope they figure out how to handle this and the glitch (if it is one and not intentionally) will be fixed soon
