i don't mind of the media calls me that, i do mind if some out of touch entitled lady uses it to refer to all adam fans except her mental picture only includes her and her friends.

tbh she probably wouldn't even consider me a real glambert. i didn't watch idol, i'm younger than her, my preferred music is EDM etc. sometimes i think these ppol are unaware that huge swathes of fandom exist outside their particular fishbowl when they fret about why their grandkids don't like adam when they try to push him on them.

yeah when media uses it to refer to fandom in general, like saying the directioners, it's ok. but i don't like actually being associated with a fandom name (i just think it's dumb, plus the extra connotation of who ~the glamberts are, among us) and especially as soon as a fan says "us glamberts" i'm like nooooo staahhhhp DNW

also IA that there must be a whole bunch of these people that are completely unaware that there are huge numbers of fans that are not like them

I still remember going to that social media summit years ago (which was fun btw & I kept going til they stopped it... what can I say? I'm a sucker for social media & free booze) and the woman near me found out the guy in front of me was an official Grammy blogger (for Americana, at that) and had to tell him all about "how glamberts are middle aged woman who follow him around and like XYZ" or something. I interjected since it was sooo annoying to be all "we are all THIS" to validate themselves. I said I was a huge Adam fan, was really into electronica (this was before it was being called EDM everywhere) and asked him about his blog & Americana music. We still follow each other on twitter. Anyway, tl;dr but that woman seemed annoyed that I wanted to contradict her worldview and talk to this random dude about other things besides Adam. It's really shows how it is about them, not Adam, since she seemed to not want to know or hear me. And had to find some media to talk to... even if he was an American blogger!
