I don't understand the hostility towards Kris. I don't listen to his stuff, it's not terrible, it's just not for me. But Adam and him are two very different people. I don't think Kris even wanted the level of fame Adam has.

I never understand this meme that Kris never wanted the fame. If Kris didn't want to be famous he wouldn't have gone on American Idol in the first place because anyone who went on American Idol after Season 1 knew what they were getting into with the fame thing.

Kris could have been a decently successful musician playing local bars and events in Arkansas if that's what he wanted to do. He wanted the big stage which included money, fame and a recording deal.

He is successful in his own way. Most artists don't reach the level of fame/success that Adam has, that doesn't mean they aren't having a fullfilling and worthwhile career.
