1) Macdonald Hall/Stargate Atlantis

Elmer had finished setting up his project and was hastily erecting the safety barrier when the boy at the next booth showed up. He opened a suitcase to reveal dozens of small parts, which he set about assembling. "They wouldn't let me build a bomb this time," he said when he felt the quiet presence over his shoulder. "But this is going to be so cool." The boy turned around and stuck his hand out. "Rodney McKay."

"Elmer Drimsdale," he replied, eyes widening as he realized just what was being put together in front of him, and just what they could do with it.

The Canadian National Science Fair was never going to be the same.

2) Our Man Weston/Harry Potter

"I've found them," came the voice out of the darkness, and all Tom could think was, "What has Sidney gotten us into now?"

A light flared, but Tom still couldn't see, and he suddenly realized he was blindfolded - which shouldn't have been a surprised, considering that he was also tied up and gagged. Blindfolded, gagged, tied up - he didn't know what was going on, but he was sure his brother was at fault.

"That's not them!" came another voice. "How could that be them? They don't even have red hair, you imbecile!"

"The spell took me right to them!" The world "them" penetrated, and Tom almost sighed with relief as he realized his brother was nearby. Sure, he was probably tied up, blindfolded, and gagged, but at least they were together. They always did better together.

"Now get out there and find me the right set of twin spies," voice two demanded, and then there was shouting and a crash like a door breaking down.

Twin voices said, "No need to look-"

"-for us, Malfoy."

And the voices were hard and cold and almost feral when they said, in unison, "We're right here."

3) I Want to Go Home/Stargate SG1

"Man, Canada's just wiping our butts this year. How the hell did that happen?" Jack O'Neill complained, perusing the Olympic scores.

"It's that new kid they've got, Miller. He seems to be good at everything. And bored by it all, too," Daniel said.

"Nobody's that good at everything. It's like he's not human!"

They both looked up, eyes meeting.

"You don't think-"

"It's possible-"

Ten minutes later they were standing in the general's office as he raised one eyebrow and asked, "You gentleman want to go where?"

4) Son of Interflux/Charles de Lint's Newford verse

When Simon Irving meets Jilly Coppercorn, it's in front of one of his largest paintings, and she's nodding her head and saying, "Yes, yes, definitely." He stammers up the courage for an invitation, and they wander through a park in downtown Newford talking about music, and commercialism, and trying to survive on an artist's salary. On their third date, he learns more about survival and homelessness and struggle than he's ever imagined. And when he follows her into the woods one evening, he learns about wonders and horrors and the true hidden nature of the world. Simon knows about secrets. He's known about secrets since his mother started her cooking experiments, since he started hiding the truth from his classmates, since Antiflux turned his life on its head. Simon knows secrets, but the truth is, he's never really been very good at keeping them. Looking down at the glittering fairy in the palm of his hand, he knows it will be different this time. This is one secret he will keep forever - or at least until someone decides to build zipper teeth on fae land.
