Baby, We'll be Fine
Akanishi Jin just laid in bed staring at his ceiling. He hadn't gotten any sleep that night since his mind had been to weighed down with thoughts. He thought about work and how hard he's been trying lately with his LANDS debut. He was actually doing everything he could to make their debut as perfect as possible, but all he got was scolding in return. Was it too much for him to want someone to tell him he was doing a good job, that they saw how hard he was trying and they appreciated it? Why couldn't Johnny just come up to him and tell him he's been hearing good things about him? Why couldn't his boyfriend or band mates appreciate all the work, time, and energy he was putting into this as well as everything else? He had really been trying, but all everyone seemed to do was yell at him that he wasn't good enough, that he hadn't been trying hard enough. It wasn't his fault he couldn't be perfect. He couldn't be like his boyfriend or best friend who everyone seemed to praise at how seriously they took their work. He took his work seriously too! He just liked to have a little fun every now and then. Was that too much to ask for? What did they want from him?
His alarm clock when off, and he drudgingly got out of bed and headed for the shower. The water cascading around him helped relax him and cool his thoughts for awhile, but the initial feelings hadn't gone away. He took his time under the water, lethargically cleaning every part of his body.
Forty-five minutes later, he stepped out of the shower, steam curling around him. He quickly dried off before tying the towel around his waist. He made his way over to his mirror and sink and began brushing his teeth and shaving. Once he was done, rinsing the wastes down the sink, he looked up into the mirror. The man staring back at him looked tired and rugged. He looked like an old man, someone twenty years old than he actually was. He forced a smile on his face, but even that looked strained and completely fake. Sighing, he headed out of the bathroom. He took the first thing he can find and got dressed. He grabbed a quick breakfast and a cup of coffee before putting on his best smile and heading out for work.
At work, he played the clown, the idiot, the goofball. He laughed, played, made jokes, entertained his audiences, coworkers, and fans. He worked seriously with his managers and did the best he could to show he could handle all of this, that he wasn't cracking under the pressure, that he didn't feel like crap, and he wasn't lost and confused in the middle of some dark forest.
He came home, exhausted after putting on an act all day. Stepping into his living room, he saw his boyfriend sitting on his couch, already half drunk with a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels on the coffee table in front of him. Hearing his lover coming home, the intoxicated young man stood up and closed the distance between the two of them, a glass of alcohol in his hand. "Welcome home, Jin." He whispered seductively.
"Hey, Kaz-" Jin was interrupted as the younger man began attacking his lips, pushing the taller man towards the bedroom. When Jin's knees hit the bed, he fell backwards and Kazuya climbed on top of him. Kamenashi stared down into his lover's eyes, but what he saw there, even in his slightly intoxicated state, made him stop.
"Are you ok, Jin?" The younger man put his drink on the bed and moved to hold his boyfriends, gently stroking his hair. This seemed to calm the other man. Kazuya lent in to place a gentle kiss on Jin's lips, but in the process knocked his drink over, staining the bed and Jin's pants.
"Shit!" Jin cursed and pushed Kazu away then ran into the bathroom. He felt tears stinging at his eyes as he lent against the door. Akanishi could only hold himself up for a moment before his knees collapsed under him and sunk down the door, burying his face in his knees.
Kazuya, slightly shocked at his boyfriend's behavior, made his way over to the bathroom door and knocked. "Hey, Jin are you ok? What's wrong?"
All Kamenashi got was a muffled, unintelligible response. "What?"
"I'm so sorry."
"Sorry for what? What are you sorry for Jin?"
"I'm so sorry for everything. I'm so sorry for everything." Jin just kept repeating the same phrase until he eventually fell asleep.
A/N: Um, so this is inspired by "Baby, we'll be fine" by the National. so, my sister made me drive with her seven hours to her old house and I kind of wrote this in my head while driving. I hope you like it. Sorry if it kind of sucks. Thanks for reading and commenting!!
