Looking out his window, Lord Ichiro could see out into the great expanse of the ocean. He saw the waves come crashing violently into the rocks and the calm further out, gently rocking the few boats in sight.
From behind him, he could hear footsteps drawing closer, so he wasn't surprised at all when his serving man quietly begged for his attention. "Lord Ichiro," the man started as the great lord turned to give his attention. "we've recieved letters telling of the deaths of the whole royal family, as well as Lord Hitoshi, and the disappearance of Lord Kamenashi."
"Damn." Ichiro muttered under his breath the curse, but then questioned the man further. "Any news as to who they've placed as king with the royal family dead and Kamenashi missing?"
"Not yet, but Master Shota assumes that Lord Yoshi will take the throne."
Nodding to himself, Lord Ichiro dismissed the servant to call in his advisors. When the servant left, Ichiro Nishikido started pulling out maps in order to start drawing up battle plans.

The people took the news of their lord's death hard. The older servants had known Lord Hitoshi as a child and had served House Ueda all their lives. For the younger ones, Lord Hitoshi was a father figure, role model, and friend. Tatsuya's father had earned the love of all his people, so the news of his death sent many into tears, and others started swearing revenge on those that were responsible.
Tatsuya tried to keep them calm with reassuring words and promises to catch whoever was responsible, but in the end, Ryo was the one to put their grief to rest with a few words that included an oath to find and exact revenge on the ones responsible for Lord Hitoshi's death.
One by one the people of Dragonkeep went back to work or to pray for the soul of their lord. Tatsuya watched them all leave before going back to his chambers with Sir Ryo at his heels. Once in his room, he poured himself a glass of wine to help ease his troubled mind as Nishikido just stood by the door watching him. He slowly brought the cup up to his lips and held it there for awhile, but instead of drinking out of it, he violently threw the cup against the wall. "Damn it!" Tatsuya swore as he tried to fight back the tears. Ryo just stood there watching Tatsuya move to sit on the bed in obvious agony.
The room remained quiet expect for Tatsuya's ragged breathing as he struggled to compose himself. Ryo stood their a moment taking in the sight of his master's quivering back before walking towards the young man.
Tatsuya was so lost in his raging emotions that he didn't hear Ryo walk up next to him and sit down beside him. He only even remembered the man's presence in the room when strong arms were wrapped around him, and a husky voice whispered in his hair. "It's okay to cry." With that Tatsuya let out all his pain, anger, and troubling emotions as he cried into the comforting arms of his knight.
After the sun had moved to the highest point in the sky, Tatsuya finally felt that he couldn't cry anymore. He gently pushed himself out of Nishikido's embrace and began wiping his tears. "I'm sorry." Tatsuya began in a weak voice. "I shouldn't have done that."
"It's okay. A lot has happened today, and you're still young. It's understandable." Ryo gave the older man a sweet smile before getting up and heading for the door. "I'm going back to my duties. Call me if you need anything, my lord." With a short bow, Ryo left.

Haruna stood there in the blazing sun looking at the rows of men, seemingly unaffected by the blistering heat, as the slaver went on in Samaritan. "Tell the little slut that these men are better than any of the other slaves she's likely to buy Haven't they heard of Edith's children where ever she's from or is she just a stupid little bitch?"
The slave girl was quick to translate what her master was saying into the common tongue. "These are the fiercest, bravest warriors in the word, your grace. And you're not likely to find ones more obedient."
Haruna had, of course, first learned Samaritan when she was five and was quite proficent in it, but she was playing the fool. Men always tend to say more than they want to when they think you're not likely to understand. "Many men claim to be fierce and brave, but once faced with battle, they turn into scared little boys."
When her words were translated, the slaver let out a scoff before randomly going up to one of the men. "Give me your sword." The man drew his sword and held it out for the slaver to take. He grabbed the sword and slowly pushed it into the slave's stomach, twisting it every now and then. The slave made no move to stop his master nor did he so much as wince. No emotion crossed either face as the man died and fell to the ground.
"I can see how brave your men truly are." Haruna replied in the common tongue while staring at the dead body in front of her.
"Stupid girl. Tell the bitch that this wasn't bravery, but obedience. These men wouldn't hesitate to kill their own mother if you asked. These men will die at your command without a second thought. Having obedient men is better than brave men who won't fear to betray you."
When this was all translated, Haruna nodded her head in approval. "I have seen all I wish to see today. I will come back tomorrow to give my answer." Haruna got on her horse and rode back to her ships, her guards trailing behind her. I must have these men. I must have my army if I'm ever going to win back what's rightfully mine.
A/N: I really don't like this chapter. I hope you liked it more than me. Thanks for reading/commenting!!
