Tatsuya could feel eyes on him as he flowed through the dance of the swords. The practice sword felt light in his hands as he moved it about, not bothering to look for the eyes. He knew who was watching him; it was one of them.
Everything had been reversed that day in the watch tower. Now, he was the one looking for sometime to himself while alone, especially Ryo. every spare moment Nishikido had was spent watching the young Ueda. When he couldn't watch him, though, he sent one of his men to do it for him.
This time, it was Yamashita. It was fine when Jin was wathcing him because they would talk and laugh and it was nice, even though he always avoided the questions as to why they were watching him. However, Yamashita wasn't like Jin that way. He was very serious when on Tatsuya watch duty and never spoke to him, just stared. He hated feeling the knight's dead gaze directed towards him. He hated even more that the only thing he could do about itwas ignore it and hoped they would grow tired of this game soon enough.
So, he focused on nothing, but the sword in his hands and the ground beneath his feet. Their master-at-arms had always taught him that a good swordsman must let all his thoughts and feelings vanish and become one with his sword. The sword had to be an extention of his body as he flowed as graceful as water, quick as a cat and quiet as a shadow through the steps. He'd always tried his hardest at this, but he could never could never let all his thoughts and emotions go as it appeared Sir Ryo could. He always found his mind being filled with unwanted thoughts and emotions during practice when there should be nothing there, but the sword.
At that moment, he stumbled a bit in his steps as he saw Ryo strolling across the courtyard towards Yamashita, but soon he recovered, unwilling to show how much he was affected by the younger man's presence. However, his calm and cool front did not convey the amount of dread that filled his soul as he saw Yamashita walk away and Ryo take his place. He tried to keep his mind of the young knight watching him and back to the sword in his hands. He wanted to show the other how talented he could be with the sword, so he would stop looking down on him, like Tatsuya knew he secretly did. Unfortunately though, Tatsuya found it hard to concentrate with that strong gaze placed firmly on him. So, instead of gracefully flowing through the steps like he wanted, he found himself clumisly stumbling along like a complete idiot novice. He grew more and more irritated as he hated himself for letting Nishikido get to him like this. This hatred reached an all time high when he heard the younger man chuckle causing Tatsuya to trip and fall to the ground. Seeing the heir to Lord Hitoshi on the ground, Ryo's amused grin turned to full on laughter that made Tatsuya want to cry. The future lord could feel the tears welling up in his eyes, but he
knew he couldn't cry in front of everyone. These men had to respect him for the man he was and the lord he would be, not the little boy he used to be, so he pushed his tears away and began to regain his determination to continue practice no matter what Nishikido was doing.
As Tatsuya was on the ground collecting himself, a shadow fell over him causing him to look up. There was Ryo standing over him with a large smirk plaster on his face and an outstretched hand to help Tatsuya up. But, Tatsuya just glared at the younger man, before pushing himself up, ignoring Nishikido's outstretched hand. Without sparing a second look at the knight, he picked up his practice sword and began going through the steps again. Out of the corner of his eye, he spared Nishikido on last glance to see the younger man's grin had grown as he walked back over to his spot to continue his watch on Tatsuya.

The rest of the day passed by normally without anything exceptional happening. he went to his lessons, ate, and was constantly watched by four pairs of eyes through out the day. Soon enough, night fell and silence swept over the castle as Tatsuya made his way sluggishly to bed. The warm covers were to help keep off the night's chill which helped the future lord fall into a deep sleep with the only sound outside his window being the gentle flap of raven's wings.
A few hours into his sleep, Tatsuya was woken by someone silently slipping into his bed next to him. A hand quickly covered his mouth as Tatsuya's eyes snapped open in fear. It was dark, but the light shinning into his room from the moon outside was enough to illuminate the figure next to him. Before his eyes was Ryo Nishikido fully dressed with a finger to his lips asking for silence. Calming down a bit, Tatsuya nodded his assent letting Ryo slip his hand off Tatsuya's mouth and to what must have been his sword belt. Just as Tatsuya was about to ask why Nishikido was in his bed in the middle of the night, he heard his window gently open and someone step inside, causing Tatsuya to huddle closer to Ryo who just waited like a tiger ready to pounce.
A/N: Finally the next chapter is up! I've had it done for awhile, but with me being lazy and my sister going crazy it took much longer than it should have. The next chapter should be up sooner, but who knows with my laziness. Hope you like this, sorry it kind of fails. Thanks for reading/commenting!
