I want to share with you some of my minimalist natural decor.
Having tiny corners of real plants, real shells, real rocks, etc. that are relatively devoid of plastic is so calming to me.
1.) This is a ring stand station. It’s is in our bedroom. When I go to bed, I take off my wedding rings and place them in the fossilized coral from our vacation to the Cayman Islands. When I wake up in the morning, I have to draw the blinds up to get to my rings, which forces me to let the natural sunlight in that we have during the summer.
On the right is a crystal I got from a metaphysical shop during a really great time in my life. I used to use the crystal to enhance my meditation and for grounding, because of the vibrations that are unique to crystals.
On the left is a ceramic pot with live succulents that were left over at work.
2.) This is at my sink. I love how I have black and white and white and black. The mug on the right is from a friend, and I have no idea what it says. I think that words are so stressful, and it’s helpful for anxiety to remove any negative wording or loud wording from your house.
I am the primary dish doer of the household, and do the sink is a power spot for me. I have lots of plants up here, and it helps me be more calm and peaceful.
When we were looking for a house, I specifically wanted a window with a ledge in front of the kitchen sink, specifically so that I could water stuff with the leftover water right there.
2b.) These are also at the sink. The pots are reused from work.
3.) One of the more eccentric things that I have is a broken robin’s egg shell from our backyard. It was a spring and a baby decoration, and o love the natural color. I like to bring in beautiful things from nature. The shell it’s in is from our from our honeymoon. Also, it has a pink rock that my husband and I picked up on a walk. We talked about how we had common experiences in childhood of picking up that type of rock.
4.) My minimalist shower setup. A glass bottle with a cork stopper and a “zero waste” organic shampoo, a candle that is vanilla scented, and an abalone shell to keep my soap in.
4b.) Up close of the abalone soap dish. The abalone shell was my grandma’s before she passed away. For someone who live nowhere close to the ocean, I do use a lot of shells in my decor.
5.) A yellow peony from our yard. Aren’t they gorgeous? I’d never seen yellow ones until we moved in here. They’re absolutely stunning. Also pictured, an artist-locally-made ceramic dish, which matches the decor in the rest of the bathroom.
5a.) You can see the peony a little bit better up close here...
6.) I just wanted to show you these magnets really quick. These are going to my husband’s work with him, but I’m enjoying them while they’re here. It’s a live succulent in a tiny bit of dirt inside a piece of driftwood, with a magnet on it. They’re beautiful, and so I wanted to show you them since they fit the “theme” of this post.
