OH FESTIVIDDER! This vid basically unraveled me emotionally and knocked me on my ass, and I am still trying to parse all the fantastic things you did here, all the irony and grief packed into it. When I realized you had made a vid about the wives, I almost fell off the chair, and then when I realized you had vidded the unrelenting sorrow and sadness that comes with being a woman in those times (and the chosen woman of a king), I began ACTUALLY CLAPPING WITH GLEE. It's an utterly exceptional song choice, especially because you've used it to subvert the idea that there was any glamour at all attached to being a queen or mistress. The opening shots set the entire tone - the swans, the facade of peace and beauty (because we know what happens to the swans, and how that metaphor plays out ominously in the show), and the stone walls, which are really just a giant prison.
