Writing and music
Writing's an interesting thing to do. I'm currently taking a creative writing class, and I'm finding that I enjoy writing...it's not my forte out of the creative things I do, but it's really fun. For years it seems as though the advice of showing and not telling has been drilled into my head, and I think that is FINALLY showing up in my writing. I could be a great writer...if I could sit down and focus on ONE thing that I can do in my life. I seem to lack that ability, because my talents are so damn spread out. One might think versatilty is good in this case, but I envy those who have their one special thing that they are good at.
I'm TRYING to buckle down on music, but it seems like I can't get the motivation to practice. And the audition's in November...yikes. O_O; I had to change one of the pieces I'm doing(WHY is it always two?? I have enough trouble picking one! DX) because I knew it would sound incredibly UGH even if I practiced every day on it before the audition. So now I'm hunting for another piece, while on top of that, I need to study for my classes so that I keep not failing and having a GPA of crap. Luckily, these guys at the audition only care if you can play your damn instrument and not your grades. Normally my grades are fine...its just that I had a major screw up in my first semester, and now I'm going to have to take classes over the summer so that I can get out of school in under 4 1/2 semesters. I had to choose the difficult degree too! :D Yay, me!
In any case, my stress level is not as high this year thanks to yoga, however, there is still A LOT I have to do. However, it seems like I'm becoming better at managing my time. I look ahead and realize that I'm not screwed and I actually DO have time to get these things done. As always, I have to re-learn that I make FAR too big a deal out of things, and I need to relax. (Yoga is a beautiful thing. TAKE IT!)
And Eyeshield 21 still owns my soul. WHEN that next subbed episode is coming out, I don't know...but they're going up against some really bad-ass guys and I'm going to get all freaked out watching it again. XD;
