In my experience so far, it's not so unusual to have this much snow on the ground in Chicago. I think it has snowed at least this much a few times a winter every year since I have moved here. However, this snowfall has apparently broken a record because of how many days in a row it has snowed. So far, 9 and counting. But the snow is the least of this city's concern right now, as right now the temperature is on it's way down to negative land.
We are not projected to have temperatures higher than 0°F for the next 30 or so hours. The high tomorrow is forecast to be -1°F, the low set for -12°F.
I made this video mostly for my family, but I thought you might like to see it as well. :)
