well. it's been two weeks here at the cape, and only now have i realized that...lo!...there is wireless internet to be had from the picnic table outside my cottage. reception dies inside the door, but a few steps outside, i'm online. go figure.

it's been great. i haven't quite kept up the book and a half a day thing from last year, but that's mostly because of the book selection this year. Whereas last year was all Le Guin and Gaiman that hovered around 300 pages per book, i'm wading into dostoevsky this year, all ten pounds of it. i'm still dispatching some stuff on the side, but i won't be able to brag about another 33 books this year. probably just closer to 20. pfah.

my time's split between biking, swimming, basking and reading. this is heaven. there's an outdoor shower that i love, especially during torrential thunderstorms...showering in the raaain! i got caught in another (wait...actually, the same) deluginous thunderstorm while biking..this is great. walks at night under the stars along the beach, and retrospective scribbling in my time-lapse journal. heh, the last time i wrote in that my current college wasn't even a hope...i was pulling for U of Rochester or Brandeis, maybe. i was just generally stressing the hell out over the whole horrible college process. how trivial it all seems now.

incidentally, hannah--just after that entry were the two or three pages of doodles you amused yourself with that one time. heh. i uh. i guess i'm pretty skinny. jerk.

i dunno. it's very nice here, but i've got another week to go, and by that time i'm definitely going to be ready to get back home. i've got a scary-fast motorcycle to tune up and ride around one last time before i sell it, a room to convert into an art studio for my parents when i'm gone, a Mageiu Cubes set to build out of marble, and generally a life to pack up and get ready to move come September. hoo boy, it's gonna be fun.

last little thought--what's going to be really interesting is going to be later on, winter vacation or next summer, when we all get back together and talk about the first year at college.
