So What's Up Buttercup?

Hmmm... maybe my posting should just be labelled a monthly thing and I should quit pretending that I will make it otherwise?  That would be really realistic of me.

I know... let's bullet-form this list!

What's Happened Since Last Time!
  • Thunder Bay Unseen continues its redesign with new pages being completed as soon as I finish posting this update.
  • The girls and I went camping with the Sparlings at Kakabeka Falls, just overnight, but it was eye-opening.  We had fun, learned a lot about ourselves, and the girls had a new experience.  It was the first time I'd had my tent out in almost two years - but she's still lookin' good.  I, however, now need a new sleeping bag.  We got a new cooler too, just for our adventure, and I scored a new tin camping cup.
  • I suppose this should have been first but I had to work up to it: Cheryl and I have broken up.  No it was not mutual but NO there are no hard feelings.  It was something that had to happen, as odd as that may sound.  We both carry a lot of baggage that other people piled/forced upon us and, sometimes, that baggage gets in the way.  Cheryl and I are remaining friends and the future is wide open for whatever it may bring.
  • Our trip out west was, thusly, canceled.  I am disappointed about this, truly I am.  I was looking forward to showing my kids something new and different, something exciting... they lost a lot over the last year and I wanted to make it up to them.  I will yet.  I still did take them camping though and we went to the movies today and saw WALL-E.  We had a great Canada Day, hanging with Charlene and her kids, Hanna, and the rest of my family, even though they drive me crazy.
  • In order to escape the world right after the trip was canceled I helped Marnie and Nic move to Ottawa.  Crazy drive straight through, unloaded the truck, slept, and drove home.  It was a good way to work through a lot of what I had going through my head, I got to talk it out with someone, and just generally enjoyed the time away.  I missed my girls though and was excited about getting home to them.
  • I have an herb garden in my kitchen again.  I missed having fresh herbs for cooking.  It's a larger garden than last time and it's already getting pretty lush: The basil is huge and the dill has gotten really high already.  I have mint, rosemary, chives, and marjoram as well.
  • Suzanne moved the piano out of my house yesterday.  The room looks really weird without it there but I already have some plans for that corner.  I spent the majority of yesterday cleaning the whole house including a few things I have been putting off and putting off because they are a PITA.  The top of my fridge is clean, as is the pantry, I washed the living room floor, cleaned the kitchen table off completely, moved furniture in my room, purged a lot of clothes, took care of the pet's needs, and weeded the front garden.  After all that I was exhausted.  I just hope it stays this way now... (who am I kidding?)
I suppose that's about it for now.  My 30th birthday is in 12 days.  I still have no clue what is happening that night other than I need a babysitter - ask my family what they might have planned.  So how's all of this?  Busy month of June...
