lol,im not giving up because one show didnt work out , i am giving up because i have to eat, I am broke beyond belief , i put everything i have into this company i just don't have anything left to give, littarally, lol i have run out of stuff to sell. and i know there is a bigger audience out there, my last show was compltly sold out.
im not giving up because i am feeling sorry for myself if i give up its because i dont have the 6000 bucks per production it takes to do (chapters dosnt pay that well after all) and your right its not the audiences fault , its just frustrating when you try so hard to create somthing from scratch and it does not work.
my apoligies for getting snappy and defensive, it is just really hard to come to the realization that somthing you are so passionate about and that you have worked on so hard can not continue due to circumstances(aka money)
there is no such thing as a garanteed sell out, unless you do a musical , which really isnt my thing.
and i know why the last show did well , I really did try and bring fun plays with canadian content to the stage this year.(which is somthing very important to me, and as far as rights go you would be amazed at what i pay for rights, third wall has a huge advantage there because they do shows that are clasics (no rights required generally)
but hey its cool , i am really proud of this show , its just to bad more people are not going to see it. I much rather do good canadian drama and be remembered for that then just do what sells , i was just hoping ottawa audiences would buy into it , i was wrong , and i was wrong to do an xmas play that was a huge mistake.
