(no subject)
Yesterday Pete, Vicky, her two two housemates Erin and Beth and I marathoned the extended edition of LotR all day. We started at 10am, and finished at 11:30pm (including lunch and dinner breaks). We supplied a buttload of cake (I made a three-tiered chocolate cake with white chocolate filling and milk chocolate frosting and Pete made two iced butter sponges), and they supplied pizza and pasta. It was a veeeeery good day. Although we got to hyper and hysterical by the end of it (Pete and I used over a kilo and a quarter of sugar in the icing alone) we just ende dup laughing at every little thing. The bit where Frodo flops onto the ground when the eye of Sauron beams onto him in Mordor for instance- we kept rewinding and replaying that bit and nearly killing ourselves laughing.
Today was the free archery session for freshers and newbies, so I helped coach. Was a load of fun, although I have lost my voice from talking enthusiactically for three hours straight, and by back aches from the pacing around and demonstrating with bows for as long.
Term starts tomorrow, I guess. Freshers' week was fun, went around and got a bit of free stuff. Ended up with dried fruit, chocolate, loads of vouchers, kitchen spatulas, keyrings and a couple of condoms. Random stuff, there.
