protectmarriage.com is committing the worst kind of fraud. By lying to the public to sway votes in the direction of their personal and religious beliefs.
They claim, “the supreme court ruling made tolerance mandatory”
Use commonsense, tolerance is never mandatory. If that were true organizations such as the “KKK” would not exist.
"Public schools are already required to teach the role of marriage in society as part of the curriculum"
Public schools do not teach the “role of marriage in society”
“This will force churches to perform marriages between same-sex couples”
Same-Sex marriage is the right to have a “STATE” marriage license not one provided by any church. Any church will always have the right to refuse to perform any marriage for any reason. “Separation of church and state”
Nun of these statements are true. They are all blunt lies to try to fool the general public in believing that the “church of later day saints” is justified in passing judgment and teaching hate. I don’t want to preach. All I want is for this vote be fair. And by lying all they do is undermine everything they stand for and what this country is about.
This country is not a true democracy. We are an electoral democracy with a set of checks and balances. Some times the majority is not correct in their thinking because of a little thing called religion. It is some times up to the courts to protect the interests of the minority.
It is funny how the religious community is the first to bring up the right to practice your religious beliefs and the separation of church and state when it protects them, and the first to ignore that same statement when it apposes them.
The freedom to believe in your own religion should protect same-sex marriage. Not appose it. My religion believes in the marriage of same sex couples.
I propose a challenge to the protectmarriage.com community. If anyone can give me 3 good reasons that I cannot contradict or that I cannot argue against. I will be the first to appose same-sex marriage. Just 3 reasons.
