- Gardasil is not a cervical cancer vaccine. It is an HPV vaccine, and it only prevents four strains out of 30-40 strains. It doesn't even prevent every strain that causes cervical cancer.
- It is ridiculously expensive. The vaccine is administered in a series of three shots. Each one costs $120. That's $360 for this thing, not counting doctor's fees. It's so expensive that many doctors can't even afford to stock it because they'd be losing money if they did.
- This is just a theory, but I mean, come on, it's not hard to look at cause and effect and whatnot. Merck suffers a huge blow to their profits when Vioxx, a cash cow for them, has to be recalled due to the heart problems it causes. They then come out with Gardasil, which they immediately recommend should be a required vaccine for children. They also file a patent extension as early as December 2006 for Gardasil. What I'm saying is that it's all about money. Merck is just trying to make money. Just think, they've got a required vaccine that only they are allowed to produce. It's neverending profit.
- They did absolutely no long-term testing. Nobody knows the effects of the vaccine after five years. They don't know if it will even protect against HPV after that time. They don't know the effect of the additional aluminum that another shot would plop into your kid's veins.
That's all for now. I'll think of more later.
