Yeah, this one WILL make some folks cringe just looking at it. ;D I just wanted something to play that is way outside of the regular "success oriented" challenges out there. lol
:D And I've only broken a few more things than what you already know about! <.< >.> Maaaaay wish to confer with you over heir polls though. I'm currently holding one and having a bit of an issue because (besides the fact that I got the eldest just to adult before doing it), the younger kids are still kids and I don't know if they'll become knowledge and I don't know if you have/want an official way to deal with that :/
Okay, I forgot to add that you can enter any of the eligible kids you WANT to enter into the poll. It's not required to enter all of them. So really, if you want to just leave the younger ones out it's up to you. I know you're drowning in kids! lol
I don't know if I want them in it - they're too young to tell how awesome or not they'll be! X) I probably could have omitted a few who got on my nerves (ONE OF THEM THREW AWAY A WHOLE BIRTHDAY CAKE, FFS!), but I wanted to be fair :P It's more just an issue of if one wins and is then disqualified, or if a bunch of them wind up disqualified. May not come to that though.
I edited the rules for this. Well, I don't think there's much of a chance ALL the younger kids will be disqualified! If there's only one left who is eligible, then you will have to default to them.
Oh yeah! Tents are allowed. Forgot to add that. >_<
If they can afford a pool or hot tub, those are allowed! If you want them to be able to get on top of the roof (flat ones are fine!), you'll need to buy them a CC ladder or build stairs.
lol If you discover that they CAN dive from the rooftop let me know! :D
One more. What to do with the illegitimate children of teenage spares if playing with inteen/larger households? Do they move out with parent when parent becomes adult?
They can, OR they can be raised in the main house by their grandparents. If the baby happens to be born to the next heir then that baby is eligible for the heir challenge when it comes around again.
I'll definitely be giving your rules a try Fuzzy, some are very different to the ones I have set up. The main one being in my trailer family the mother works like a slave as do any teens while dad does whatever he wants. With him being the uncontrolled one except for his rolled wants. I have whoever is heir in Slacker so he's never gotten promoted above Gas Station worker ($80 per work day as I have halved wages) because he can't be made to skill and it requires a mechanical point. I just can't see a red neck/bogan sitting there with a book skilling- but I will for yours. I'll be keeping my mods in when I play this so they will keep longer life spans, halved wages, harder skilling and harder grades. You can expect mine to be worse than dirt poor, because I like tear your hair out challenges as you probably know. ^_
( ... )
There just has to be 4 pregnancies, and those can be entirely your doing- when and where and with whom. If there's more than 4, that's fine, too.
ACR is NOT required. I only suggest it as one of the "allowed" hacks that might make things a bit spicier.
The yard sale business has to stay put through the whole challenge. You just keep it closed all year, until that one day in summer when they can sell again! The way you'll be playing this it sounds like they will NEED yard sale day just for a little bit of cash! lol
They probably will need it lol. I'm asuming we were letting the teens grow up themselves at the end of 15 days? If you don't mind I will age mine up with a hacked birthday cake as my double aging hack has them as teens for 30 days (something I never allow as I really installed it for longer toddler, kids and adult life spans)
Is there any substitution for the yard sale? I'd love to, but I don't have OFB. And that's like half the challenge so it seems like it might not work so well without it...
There is, and I meant to add it to the rules! >_< (I'll amend them tomorrow when I'm not so tired)
You'll still have only one day in the summer when you can sell things. The items have to have depreciated in value at least 50% before you can sell them! So things that previously weren't allowed to be placed on the lot, will have to be in order for them to depreciate (like items in the new spouse's inventory and crafted items). You might need to put them inside a fence so they can't be used! When summer rolls around, just sell the stuff using buy mode. But only if it's sufficiently depreciated, so you might have to make a small effort to keep track of the retail prices. :P

Useable flat roofs?
Tents in the yard?
Pool/hot-tub/swimable pond?
(diving-board off the useable flat roof into the swimable pond? Wait, I have no idea if that is even possible. :P)
