Headstone

Auntie Carol told me while I was visiting that the headstone for Grandma could not be bought because no one was willing to shell out the $$ for it. So I took action today and called the cemetery myself to find out what is going on. Talked to a nice woman who said that to match my Grandfathers headstone, it would cost over a grand. Apparently, thats on the cheap side. So I told her to go ahead and make the arrangements for the purchase of the headstone and I will gather up the money by November 1st. I will just have to move my normal credit card payment schedule back a couple of months. Thats the least I could do. I told the woman not to tell my family that I'm doing this because I dont want thank yous...I think Grandma is praying for me as I write this down and thanking me herself. Unfortunately, Chicago has really cold winters, so even if I bought the headstone today, they couldn't get it in the ground until next spring, when the ground thaws out.

*pats self on back* I will sleep a lot easier knowing that my grandma and grandpa are resting in peace and people know who they are as they walk through the cemetery.
