some enchanted evening

Richmond was populated tonight by the dearly disturbing sort of people that relieve the sad, sour, claustrophobic feeling that comes from living in a densely peopled place.
I grew from a girl who wandered the dark woods and moonlit beaches at hours when decent folk expect to be raped or mugged in urban areas, hence resentment.
But the pimp at the pizza parlor clad in silk & gold flashing cash, the 7-11 clerk converting dollars to cents to mess with drunken minds, the whirl of first friday, the stranded couple on the bashed scooter (and of whom K&C swear the girl was coming on to moi, teehee), and the wasted dude warning us off a cluster of cops in hushed tones lent serendipity to to a shadowy world.
Surprisingly, there were no spontaneous musical numbers.
Perhaps the entire planet played well together tonight.
