Hmmmmm...whats been going on with me you say? Well, all I can
really remember is this past weekend in which we went on our trip to
UNC for the away game with the UMD band. It all starts with
Friday night in which we take a trip to IHOP at midnight, since we're
leaving for NC at 2:30am. This turned out to be quite an
experience as we were given one waiter for 30+ of us. It got
absolutely ridiculous, I must've waited a good hour and a half for my
food, and I wasn't even the last person to be served. Although
good eats, still ridiculous. We also received our awesome Trumpet
shirts while at the restaurant, complete with ripoff of the Beer!
poster.

After the IHOP adventure we got to the buses and were in for a nice
long bus ride. After plenty of failed attempts at sleeping we
stopped for breakfast. For some reason someone though one small
breakfast restaurant was going to feed 260 people, riiiiight...so most
people ended up going across the street to the Hardees. I wasn't
about to wait an hour for food, and so some of us went to the nearest
gas station and loaded up on Little Debbie snacks like honey buns and
donuts. Cheap and filling, worked for me. Then we
left again and eventually made it to our destination. The UNC
stadium was quite impressive. Oh yeah, and about 2 weeks before
the game they had decided that we weren't going to be allowed to march
halftime at the game, which was pretty lame, while the UNC band did a
dedication to some composer that included a rendition of the Woody
Woodpecker them...
But its ok because this turned out to be the bestest football game I
have seen yet. Things looked hopeless as UNC took a commanding
lead, but 2 quick touchdowns put us back in the running. The game
would have been over earlier had our kicker not missed 2 field goals
and an extra point. Absolutely ridiculous. So the game goes
into overtime with UMD making the first drive. Luckily the kicker
doesn't F up again and makes this field goal. With a miracle our
defense holds UNC from scoring a touchdown. They go up to kick,
and holy crap, the kicker misses the kick to the right. We went
absolutely nuts! Final score, UMD 33, UNC 30. Awesome.
After the game we went to our hotel in Durham, where I was planning to
meet my bro since he lived only a little over an hour away in
G-bo. But as luck would have it, his internet directions
completely failed at directing, and he got lost and the trip ended up
taking 2+ hours. So we only had enough time to go out and get
some eats, but even then it was still cool to see him since its been
quite awhile.
There was almost no hope for sleep that night with 3 guys in a room
with only one king size bed and one of them snoring terribly. I
tried sleeping in a chair, only accumulating a couple hours throughout
the night.
So the next morning we headed back for the home state, and made a great
lunch stop at the one and only, HOOTERS! Heh. Its true what they
say though, they do have good wings.
The rest of the ride back consisted of consistent paper airplane
throwing back and forth. Then someone made a not too bright
decision of playing Team America as the final movie choice.
Needless to say we got a lecture on that one when the bus driver
demanded that the movie be stopped right as we got back to
Maryland. Oops.
And now here it is awhile later. Somehow I decided to convince my
parents to give me advance christmas money to start piecing my water
cooling setup together, and if you don't know what that is, good thing,
because then you're not a total nerd like me. I suppose that's
about it for now. Hopefully I'll be seeing the G-Kim Friday
because her band is so retarded and not cool like our band. Other
than that I just can't wait for Thanksgiving. Good eats with my
best friends, can't wait. And to wrap it up here is something
silly the Chistopher Grey found.
