AB [Background] Uchiha Sasuke is the second son of Konoha Military Police captain and Uchiha clan head, Fugaku. His mother, Mikoto, is the one he resembles more of the two. Itachi, his older brother, was the clan prodigy who graduated from the Ninja Academy when he was seven years old, activated his Sharingan when he was eight, passed the Chuunin Exam when he was ten, and became a captain of an ANBU squad when he was thirteen. Itachi had their father’s absolute attention-Sasuke did not. This made Sasuke jealous and drove him to try and surpass Itachi.
Despite that, Sasuke admired and loved Itachi. Itachi looked out for him and would occasionally train with him. Itachi would train and Sasuke would watch, or sometimes train alongside him. Over time, however, Itachi grew more distant, causing his relationship with their father to deteriorate. Itachi barely spent any time with Sasuke after this, while Fugaku started paying attention to Sasuke, warning him not to follow in Itachi’s footsteps. During this time, Fugaku taught him the Great Fireball Technique (Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu)-those in the Uchiha clan with the ability to perform this jutsu were considered adults. He mastered it a week after, and for the first time, received his father’s recognition. He was seven then.
When Sasuke was eight, Itachi killed the entire Uchiha clan and deserted Konoha, but not before using the Mangekyou Sharingan and forcing Sasuke to relive the massacre in painful, horrific detail. Sasuke’s life was spared because Itachi didn’t think he was worth killing, but from that day forth, he grew up with a single ambition: the resurrection of his clan, and to kill a certain man-Itachi. Sasuke didn’t remember, but that night his own Sharingan activated.
Four years later, Sasuke graduated from the Ninja Academy and was considered the best genin of the class. He was placed in Team 7, which consisted of Uzumaki Naruto and Haruno Sakura, led by Hatake Kakashi. Naruto graduated last in their class and was a loser, Sakura was annoying and had a crush on him, and Kakashi, a jounin, fell for Naruto’s prank (what an idiot). Sasuke disregarded them, believing they would only get in his way. He was wrong to an extent. As their missions progressed, Sasuke found himself valuing his teammates. He found comfort in Kakashi’s powerful presence, risked his life for Naruto, and exacted revenge on the team that had hurt Sakura. He was slowly losing sight of his goal. He was starting to rediscover companionship.
Then the Chuunin Exam rolled by. During the physical test, Orochimaru, one of the legendary Sannin turned traitor, entered in disguise and attacked Team 7. Sasuke realized there was no way they could win against him and decided to surrender their scroll in exchange for their lives. Naruto got angry and punched him. Naruto proceeded to battle Orochimaru and his snake summon, shocking Sasuke with the immense power he suddenly seemed to have. Ironically, it was Naruto who reminded Sasuke that he still needed to survive in order to kill his brother. Sasuke started fighting again, Sharingan activated.
But Orochimaru was on an entirely different level. He easily branded Sasuke with the Cursed Seal of Heaven, claimed that Sasuke would eventually seek him out for power, and just as easily left. Sasuke fell into an agonized sleep as the curse weaved itself through his chakra. Sasuke’s awakening was marked by the expansion of the seal markings in addition to overwhelmingly powerful chakra. He successfully defeated one attacker and scared off the rest of the team.
This was the start of Sasuke the Avenger.
Team 7 successfully made it to the preliminaries. Sasuke was the first to fight, paired with the worst opponent for his situation; they were able to drain chakra upon contact. He wasn't allowed to use his chakra because that would activate the cursed seal. He managed to win solely on taijutsu, using a modified version of an attack Rock Lee had performed on him right before the start of the exam.
Shortly after the match, Sasuke was taken away by Kakashi, who was worried about the effects the seal had on him. Painting Sasuke's body with his blood, Kakashi sealed the effects of the curse seal. However, the seal's effectiveness would rely entirely on Sasuke's willpower alone to control it. If Sasuke wanted to borrow even a little bit of the power that the seal contained, Kakashi's seal would not be able to stop the effects. Drained by the culmination of Orochimaru's seal, nonstop battle, having his chakra drained, and Kakashi's seal, Sasuke fell into deep exhaustion and was hospitalized. Unbeknownst to him, during this time, Kabuto, Orochimaru's right hand man, attempted to assassinate him, but was thwarted by Kakashi.
Fearing for Sasuke's life, and also the potential threat of Orochimaru's seal upon Sasuke, Kakashi took him away from Konoha to train. They had a month for Kakashi to help him grow stronger. Strong enough to defeat his final opponent. During this time, Kakashi trained him in improving his speed and taijutsu, and also taught him an original technique-the Chidori. By harnessing the power of his elemental chakra, which happened to be the same as Kakashi's, as well as his Sharingan, Sasuke was able to master the Chidori within that time. However, he had a limit-two shots, before his chakra would run out.
No thanks to Kakashi, he arrived late to the third test where his opponent was Gaara of the Desert. Gaara's perfect defense had Sasuke using the technique Kakashi had spent the month teaching him. He successfully broke through the barrier of sand, and for the first time, Gaara saw his own blood. This pushed Gaara over the edge, forcing his siblings to drag him away from the tournament. At this time, Sound and Sand attacked Konoha. Sasuke was ordered to give chase to Gaara. Sasuke caught up with Gaara and was forced to activate the Cursed Seal to keep up, but it wasn't enough. He was defeated easily after Gaara transformed into a tailed beast. Naruto came and saved the day, unleashing tremendous power Sasuke never knew he had. He was so angry that Naruto had been keeping all these secrets from him, and suddenly realized how much power he lacked in comparison.
Shortly after Sasuke was released from the hospital, Itachi infiltrated Konoha with his partner from Akatsuki. Sasuke discovered this when he went to visit Kakashi and found him unconscious in bed, with several jounin gathered in his apartment. He wasn't supposed to find out, but did anyway. He also found out the reason Itachi was in Konoha wasn't for him-but to capture Naruto. He was simultaneously worried and angry with a mix of jealousy. Itachi was after Naruto. Except, Itachi was after Naruto. After the massacre, he'd spent his entire life training to kill Itachi. And now, Itachi was so much closer, but apparently Naruto was more worthy of his interests. Naruto who as good as defeated Haku, who held off Orochimaru, who managed to get through to Gaara. Suceeding where Sasuke failed. Naruto who was dead last.
Setting his intents on killing his brother, Sasuke quickly set off to find Naruto. He found out from the owner of Naruto's favorite ramen shop that Naruto had gone on a mission with Jiraiya, Naruto's new teacher. After finding out where they headed off to, Sasuke immediately went after them. He began to check the inns in the town they were reportedly in. Just as Naruto was about to be attacked by Itachi and his partner, Kisame, Sasuke managed to track him down.
Without even turning around, Itachi had known he was there. Standing there so casually, as if he hadn't been the one to kill everyone Sasuke cared about, Sasuke's anger heightened, and he activated his Sharingan, as well as his killing intent. He would avenge his family. He would kill the man who had taken the lives of his entire clan to simply test his own capacity. Activating a Chidori, Sasuke immediately attacked Itachi. But, Itachi was too strong for him. No matter what Sasuke did, Itachi seemed to have an easy defense for it. He couldn't even lay a finger on the man he once considered his brother. Instead, he had his wrist broken by him. But Sasuke refused to give up, and refused even more to let Naruto try and interrupt. This was his fight. This was his fate. But he was too weak. Did not hate enough. Itachi trapped him in Tsukuyomi and forced him to relive that horrible day which had traumatized him for the past four years of his life for twenty-four hours. After that, he fell into a coma.
When Sasuke woke up he demanded a fight with Naruto. Naruto readily agreed, genuinely glad that Sasuke wanted to fight with him, and they headed towards the rooftop. They fought, with taijutsu and shadow clones and fire, until Sasuke called forth Chidori and Naruto formed Rasengan. Sakura jumped between them, but they were heading towards each other too fast to stop.
Kakashi stopped the fight by throwing them both into the water tanks on the roof of the hospital just as his Chidori was about to collide with Naruto's Rasengan and catch Sakura in the middle. Sasuke was pleased to see that his Chidori had punched a gigantic hole in the water tank. His attack was stronger than Naruto's. But then Kakashi started to lecture him about being immature, and how he wasn't supposed to use Chidori against friends. So Sasuke decided to run away since he didn't want to hear that crap. When he jumped down and looked back up, he saw that he was wrong. Naruto's attack had completely obliterated the entire back of the water tank. The hole Sasuke made in his own water tank was only a fraction compared to that.
Angry, he took off on his own and found a tree to brood in. The next thing he knew, Kakashi had tied him up against the tree and started to lecture him. Kakashi told him to give up his idea for revenge, because he had known a lot of people who went down that path. He said they all ended up empty in the end and that Sasuke would only end up more hurt. At first Sasuke thought he was full of shit, but then found out that Kakashi had also lost everyone he had ever loved. Kakashi had lived through a hard time. Sasuke was then reminded by Kakashi that there were people who were worse off than the two of them, because at least Kakashi and Sasuke had found new people they cared for and loved.
As Sasuke contemplated his words, he was suddenly attacked by four of Orichimaru's most powerful ninjas, known as the Sound Four. They quickly defeated him, even though he tapped into the power Orocihimaru had sealed in him. Sasuke was reminded of his weakness, and how little he paled in comparison, and realized if he could not even defeat the Sound Four, then he could not defeat Itachi either. They did not capture him to take him to Orochimaru. Instead, they gave him a choice, playing on his ambition: go to Orochimaru and gain power, or stay in Konoha and remain weak.
So Sasuke left the village. Somehow Sakura had known he would leave and tried to get in his way. But Sasuke decided he would cut his ties and bonds. He had been an idiot for thinking he could live with those. Once he met with the Sound Four, they quickly made him their leader. Then, they took him away from the village. Along the way, Sasuke stopped and took a pill that would give him his "first death". It would also help in activating the second level of his seal. They sealed him into a barrel and took him away.
When Sasuke woke up with Level Two of his seal fully activated, he found himself in a grassy field. Naruto was facing off with Orochimaru's former favorite, Kimimaro. He tried to reason wtih Sasuke and get him to come back, but Sasuke ran away instead. Eventually, Naruto caught up with him and they fought. He revealed that in order to gain the Mangekyou Sharingan, he needed to kill his closest friend -- Naruto. Sasuke attacked with killing intent as he transformed into his Curse Seal Level Two form. Naruto, realizing that he was serious, did not hold back either. It ended when the two of them exchanging Chidori and Rasengan yet again. It knocked them both out, but Sasuke woke first. He decided not to kill Naruto, realizing he'd be doing just what Itachi wanted him to. He would gain power his own way, even if he'd never gain Mangekyou. He left Naruto with his headband, scratched by Naruto right across the middle of Konoha's insignia, and went to Orochimaru.
Almost three years later, Sasuke had grown stronger and more powerful than ever. His training with Orochimaru had proved incredibly useful. Orochimaru taught him all of his skills. Yet, Sasuke continuously refused to kill anyone innocent with them. One day, he found his sleep suddenly interrupted. Some ANBU member named Sai had come from Konoha. He told Sasuke he wanted to preserve the bond Naruto apparently had with Sasuke. Annoyed by the fact that his sleep had been interrupted by talks of bonds, Sasuke promptly decided to blow up the part of the hideout he was in.
The next thing he knew, Sakura suddenly ran out, followed closely by Naruto. Sasuke proceeded to mock Naruto, telling him that he had let Naruto live on a whim before, and now he would kill him on a whim. Just before his sword met Naruto's back, Sai got in the way and blocked him. Sasuke stunned everyone with Chidori Nagashi, was able to contain the Kyuubi, and effortlessly evaded all attacks aimed at him. He would've attacked with Kirin, one of his strongest ninjutsu developed, but Orochimaru intervened, and they left after Sasuke was convinced that letting them live would be beneficial to his goals with Itachi.
Within two more months he had learned everything Orochimaru had to teach him. Sasuke betrayed him, killing Orochimaru's current body and forcing him to reveal his true form -- a long, large snake formed of many tiny white serpeants, the result of his experimentations. Sasuke severed his head, but the air was tainted with the poison from the snakes. He found himself in a dimension created for Orochimaru's body transfers. Sasuke easily took over.
His next point of call was to gather together a team to help with his mission. Suigestu, Karin and Juugo formed Team Hebi. Their main goal was to help Sasuke find Itachi so he could finally kill him. At one point he separated from them and ran into two Akatsuki members: Deidara and Tobi. Tobi stayed back to watch as Deidara quickly set off explosives. Deidara managed to blast off one of his wings, but Sasuke came out on top after each new, more inventive, more explosive bangs that Deidara threw at him. Deidara was almost out of arsenal, and Sasuke, failing to care about anything but any information he may have on Itachi, angered him with his blank stare, both while Sharingan was activated, and when it wasn't. This made Deidara mad-crazy-enough to go out with a bang. Sasuke just barely was able to escape the explosion, summoning Manda, Orochimaru's main summon, and forcing it to comply by using genjutsu on it, to protect himself from the blast.
A fair distance away, Suigetsu pulled out a summoning scroll and a bottle of Sasuke's blood to summon the snake. Sasuke came out of its mouth, and then the snake died, having been caught in the direct line of the explosion. Sasuke spent some time after that recovering. He healed quickly, because of the powers he'd gained from absorbing Orochimaru. They quickly had to leave, however, when Karin sensed ninja from Konoha fast approaching.
After this Sasuke encountered Itachi. They fought, and he easily knocked Itachi out with a variation of Chidori. Itachi's body burst into a swarm of crows; it had only been an illusion. He was told to meet at the Uchiha's hideout, alone. He left with Team Hebi, encountered Naruto's clone on the way, and pierced right through it without remorse. They encountered Kisame, where Sasuke ordered them to remain.
He found Itachi sitting on a deteriorated throne. Then suddenly Itachi was standing behind him. They fought, first with weapons, then Sasuke used Chidori and managed to pin him down. This was a clone made of crows, because Itachi was still sitting where he was at the beginning. Then Sasuke ran through that Itachi with his Kusanagi. The other Sasuke had been a clone made of snakes. Genjutsu, both clones. He'd avoided a fatal blow because he wanted answers on who the other Mangekyou user was, the one who had to have helped Itachi wipe out their clan: Uchiha Madara. He grew angrier the more Itachi spoke, and then blasted lightning back towards the real Itachi sitting on another throne right behind the one he'd stabbed.
Itachi recounted the history between Madara and his brother. It was revealed that use of the Mangekyou over time would render the user blind. Itachi was gong blind, and apparently wanted Sasuke's eyes in order to surpass Madara and achieve true immortality. They engaged in a long battle of genjutsu. Itachi took his left eye. Just as he would take the right Sasuke overcame the Tsukuyomi. What followed was a brutal battle of weapons and illusions, fire and lightning jutsu. Sasuke blasted open the ceiling, but by then he was out of chakra. He struck Itachi down with Kirin. Itachi survived the attack by using Susano.
Sasuke, trying to use chakra he didn't have, accidentally unleashed Orochimaru. Orochimaru was pierced with the Sword of Totsuka and sealed away, turning into a white serpent that was burned by the flames of Amaterasu. Itachi started hacking up blood, then he walked towards Sasuke. Sasuke, angry, shocked, panicking, attacked with all his remaining weapons. It was all blocked with Susano's shield. He backed away into a wall, and then Itachi was right in front of him, blind, reaching out with a bloodied hand.
Itachi smiled, poked him on the forehead like he used to when Sasuke was younger and he was the caring older brother, "I'm sorry, Sasuke," he said with his last breath. "This is the last time." Then he collapsed.
It started raining, blood and water dripping down his chin. He smiled.
The world went black.
[Personality] Uchiha Sasuke has been called many things, among them: genius, bastard, traitor.
He displays to the world an ever-constant mask of indifference, infuriatingly cool and impenetrable. He is quiet, rarely speaking unnecessarily. But not because he's shy; the way he carries himself is evidence of his extreme arrogance. He believes he doesn't need anyone but himself. He does not brag-doesn’t need to-but he is not above taunts or downright condescension. He does not care about anyone's feelings. If they get hurt, oh well. It's not his fault. It's theirs, for being too sensitive.
There isn’t a lot of people he holds in high regard. Suffixes that imply respect are never used. The way he addresses others is direct, commanding, rude. Almost always he gets away with it. But usually, he does not make friends easily because of it. He does not understand girls. Does not really care for them, either. He is unable to pick up social cues. He also has a very short temper. And if you push the right buttons, that cold exterior will suddenly be overcome by fierce anger that he does not hold back.
Sasuke has no allegiance to anyone or anything but the memory of his long-dead clan. This is the root of his dream, his ambition. As a ninja, his only desire is to gain power, but he is not driven by this thirst for the sake of it-power is merely the means that would allow him to achieve his goal, which is to revive his clan and kill Madara. He has already completed the other half of his original goal-to kill his brother.
He has no qualms with cutting off all his ties from Konoha. After all, fraternal bonds forged through hate are more important to him than platonic bonds formed though rivalry and friendship. He does not care for the rest of the world. They do not matter. He does not care for rules. He makes them. He does not care for friends. They're bothersome. Least of all, he does not care about happiness. That has no place in his revenge-unimportant, hindering, pointless to even consider.
The only thing that matters to him is killing off the last piece of the puzzle that killed his clan-Madara. And resurrecting his clan. That is all that matters. Nothing else. No one else.
[Specialties/Abilities] As an heir of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke has access to a special bloodline limit known as the Sharingan. It gives him the ability to predict, copy, and break through the fighting techniques of his opponents, whether it be taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu.
He has the Mangekyou Sharingan, and with it includes the ability to burn anything his right eye sees to ash if consumed by the potent black flames. Continual usage of the Mangekyou Sharingan, however, will eventually lead to blindness.
Sasuke is exceedingly proficient with ninjutsu and he is extremely fond of techniques utilizing the fire and lightning elements. His preferred weapon of choice is his Kusanagi sword.
Sasuke’s incredible prowess in taijutsu is aided by his speed. Sasuke is insanely fast. You’ll miss him even if you don’t blink.
[Affection] Sasuke is not affectionate. He won’t cut your hand off if you try and touch him (not necessarily), but he won’t be very comfortable with it either.
[Fighting] Sasuke’s a very powerful ninja, but he’s still mortal. Any fatal injuries, if they hit him, will possibly kill him just like it would anyone else.
He’s extremely resourceful. He will observe his opponents and can accurately see through their abilities without losing his calm. He’ll determine the most effective means to take out his opponent, even if it requires getting severely injured in the process. (Read: His calm only lasts as long as his opponent is not Itachi.)
He won’t invoke any fights unless someone purposefully riles him up (or if it involves a certain brother of his). He doesn’t like killing needlessly, but he can kill.
