Hello again~!! It's been A WHILE since I last posted/commented... Because I've been so busy getting ready for moving to university and all that shiz.
And now I'm finally here~!! :D
Got here midday on Saturday and spent most of the day furnishing my room and getting to know Naomi (my college mother), Seb (brother), and Peter and Lucien who are my floormates.
The residential building for freshers, Cripps Court, is very brown 60s decor so that's somewhat unpleasant but whatever. Soon it'll feel like home... Maybe...

AFTER UNPACKING:
This is Cripps Court from the outside...
And my bathroom. My floor shares toilets but we have one shower between two which is pretty good. Even better - I have gym membership here now, so I can use their showers XDDD which are in the hotel part and are amazingly nice. Yay.
Anyways, Saturday night we had speed-mating which wasn't a really quick orgy as Lucien had hoped but a 'get-to-know-people-quick' sort of thing. I met a few LGBT people but no freshers (although I'm sure they exist!) and of course didn't meet any other Japanese students because I'm the only Selwyn fresherdoing Japanese and I haven't met anyone from any other colleges yet. Selwyn is quite insular, it seems.
Then last night we went to a Childhood Heroes bop (all dances are called bops, which is so laughably 1950s). I went as George from the Famous Five XDDD Style icon to lesbians everywhere. At the moment I know about 6 peoples' names and subjects and can recognise about 200 others but cannot for the life of me remember anything about them except that I've talked to them.
I'm kinda homesick because a) I've never lived away from home before b) my family is really close and c) I have a great home, but I think it's getting better. I'm looking forward for freshers' week to be over and to start lectures on Thursday, because a regula schedule always makes me feel more secure. Anyways. It's ok if massively overwhelming. Plus the second-year Selwyn Japanes student told me that Japanese has a dropout rate of 60% compared to 1% across the university as a whole. I'm not sure if he was ust taking the piss, but I can believe it... Geck DD:
Anyways, today I have matriculation so I have to walk around Cambridge in my gown XDD And I have about a billion meeting with various faculty members. And if I miss any, I get fined (>______<); Help~~~
