♥ LONDON GAY PRIDE 2007 ♥ SUMMER BALL 2007 ♥ (warning: photo heavy)
OMG. Went to LONDON GAY PRIDE yesterday, omg. So much fun, so much fun, omg.
Gifford and some other people decided not to go because of the car bombs found the previous day. I almost didn't go because I got a bit nervous, but then, it's London! It's always gonna be dangerous, and now there was a really large amount of police forces present - like 10 on every street. Plus, on the day Gordon Brown became PM o(>______<)o I went on a visit to the BBC studios. Which is surely far more potentially dangerous. So I went and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT XDD
_windigo_ and I turned up in London about 11ish for the beginning of Pride and followed the men dressed as Wonder Woman and people draped in pink Union Jacks to Baker Street where the parade floats were assembling.
C'est moi :D in my Cambodian 'Danger!! Mines!!' t-shirt... perhaps not the best thing to wear the day after bomb attempts...

This was the Amnesty International float, protesting against the treatment of gays in Russia, Poland, Estonia, Moldova, and Belarus, I think. Anyway, we were asked if we wanted to be in the parade with them... So we got free t-shirts, stickers and leaflets to distribute and placards to wave! :DD

Me and the float. I have an inability to take 'normal' pictures, btw. I'm always at a weird angle with a weird expression XDDD
Anyway, then eventually at 1:30ish, after a lot of rain o(>______<;)o we started marching! It was a long route - we reached Trafalgar Square about 3ish - and walked past crowds of hundreds of thousands of people. It was awesome, such a great feeling. We basically just had to follow the float, dancing as we marched and giving out stickers or leaflets to people in the crowd :D
There were two anti-gay protest groups but they were made to stay way away from the parade. They were reading Bible stuff through a megaphone, so as we went past the float just beeped its horn constantly to cover their shouting. Fuckers >>>3
Us marching :D The float was themed on Eurovision, so all the anti-gay Eastern European countries were given 'nul points' as if it were the Eurovision contest, and on the float people dressed up as the presenters with Wogan masks were dancing to the very very loud music. You should try doing the actions to 'YMCA' with a heavy placard. SO HARD OMG.

Haha yeah, there were a lot of people dressed like this walking about XDD The people who weren't there for Pride but just doing their everyday jobs looked slightly freaked...

_windigo_ and the SHEILA'S WHEELS SINGERS!!! XDDD you know, from the advert. They actually sang on stage, and we happened to see them as they left, so they posed for a quick picture in the middle of the road XDXD
endraia who we met for about 0.27834 seconds, but oh well. Nice to see her again! :D
The worst thing was that we had to leave at about 4 in order to catch the train home and go to our SUMMER BALL which was at 7.30 that evening. So we didn't get to watch the final episode of Doctor Who Series 3 on the big screen (I've seen it now, though, it's SOME KIND OF AWESOME omg) and although we saw Freeman Agyeman, we didn't get to see John Barrowman DD:
Still, it was totally great :D I felt happy in a way that I haven't really felt before - like a kind of acceptance or just losing the feeling of constant tension which comes of being a gay person who is always around straight people and is always a minority. So 10/10 for fun XD
And then, it was our Summer Ball. Basically it was ok, Matt was INSANE and we had some interesting bum-smash fights, and I walked in on two of the lower sixth attempting to have sex on the floor but not really going for it. Weird.
