I got an inspiration to write a short report of the all-last concert of Kanjani8's PUZZLE tour I went to. I won't write a full detailed report since I'm sure someone has already done that, plus I can't remember everything that well and detailed. Plus this tour will be made into a DVD (out 09/23! Footage is from Tokyo Dome though) so everyone can see it there :D This is also probably most help to myself to remember my experience later.
It's my second time seeing Kanjani8 live, the last one was 2 years ago at Osaka-jo Hall. I don't get to see them live often so I get really emotional when I do see them. Osaka Dome is also so HUGE and when I started to like them they had lives almost only at a really small theater. Zenyasai@Osaka-jo Hall (Spirits!! DVD) was held just a bit after I became a fan and it was their first big venue. It makes me teary that they have grown such a huge fanbase that they can fill up a dome!
Me on a train before the concert. Notice also my puzzle piece shaped necklace!
I was at Osaka Dome around 5pm, one hour before it started. I met my friend who gave me few concert goods she had bought me earlier (shushu (I don't know what they are called in English, but a hair... bobble... thing?), Osaka limited strap and magical band). After chatting a bit with her and her friend, I decided to go in. My friend's seat was kind of close to me but our gates were different so I went ahead just in case. Some people looked at me a bit but I didn't see anyone looking badly at me like I have heard some people do to foreigners. Maybe it was because my seat was so back that there was no way I'd stand out XD And also since I was alone, looking probably a bit lost with 45000 people around me! On a toilet queue before the concert one girl was smiling at me all the time but didn't say anything ^^;
My seat was very far from the stage back at the stands but it wasn't really too bad. I got to see the whole venue well, which was amazing since Osaka Dome is huge and apparently there were 45000 people that day. The moment the lights went off and I could see the sea of penlights around the hall I became teary simply because it was so beautiful and I could really see how much people there were, all for my lovely K8 :,( I wasn't the only one crying, a girl next to me was drying her tears to a towel all the time and someone behind me was WEEPING really loudly :D I had my binoculars ready too so I got some close view too, though of course it's not the same as seeing them from couple meters away but anyway.
Before the real concert started, they showed a video about concert manners on the screens. It was K8 dressed as gorillas (except Hina who IS a gorilla so...) and doing everything that you shouldn't do at the concert like take pictures, jump around, eat, etc. It was too fun :D
They sang probably all the songs from PUZZLE, which was great because it's a really fun album. To my pleasure, they sang many older songs too, like Do You Agree?, which is like THE K8 concert song since it's on every concert DVD but not in any CD (why??). I love it, it was Kanjani8's first song anyway. Other older songs included Osaka Rainy Blues, Heavenly Psycho (♥♥♥), Misetekure, Kanfuu Fighting, Sukiyanen Osaka (how could they be in Osaka and NOT sing this?) and Osaka Obachan Rock.
The unit songs were fun, ESPECIALLY Yoko/Yasu's Kicyu!! It was TOO CUTE. Or should I say Yoko was too cute. I have an unhealthy addiction to Yoko and I kept peeking him all the time with my binoculars. I was a bit sad that I hadn't learned the dance to the song (it's actually not so easy to remember!!) since almost everyone around me DID know it. I remember some hand moves but man these fangirls remember a LOT! For a second I felt like a really bad fan ^_^;
Eito Ranger was a lot of fun as usual. Suddenly there were two red rangers?? Black, and especially Green and Orange must've been so hot in the beginning with what they were wearing!! Orange was sweating only around his shoulders and Black made fun of him, poor thing. Shouyu/soosu jokes were so "oh no you didn't!!" that I almost died. Black was funny with wanting to make hot cake for Nasu. T_T I'm not going to go too into the story if people don't want to be spoiled!
MC was a lot of fun too. They talked about their families coming to say hi to the backstage. Yoko told that Yasu's dad (I think?) is like a gorilla and he hit Yoko to his back and told him it's fine to tell this story at an MC XD Hina also told that when Yoko's mom was there and Hina went to say hi to her, she asked him "Where did Yoko go?". Like, Yoko is his own son and she calls him "Yoko", which is a nickname from their family name!! What!! XD
On a first encore they came out and Yoko told that they will introduce a new song which will be a coupling of their next single. Everyone was happy about new single and then they tell us that "and oh, this tour will be made to a DVD too" and THEN everyone was REALLY going crazy. Yoko also told that they're gonna teach us a part of the song and it will be recorded and included in the CD!! Then he said that it would be weird if HE was the one teaching it (haha poor thing) so he gave that job to Subaru. It was a really easy "lalala" part and we learned it quite fast! We practiced a couple of times with Yasu's accompaniment and then without. And then we recorded it and they said it was OK on the first time! Something that doesn't happen often when THEY are recording a song at a studio :D I have no idea how sore my voice was already but I sang to my fullest!! After recording they performed the whole song and we got to do our own part!
Apparently the same part was recorded on yesterday's concert too, so I'm not quite sure what will they use. Maybe both but in different parts of the song? Or combined? Or maybe they did it twice just in case? I have no idea, but Subaru told us congratulations on your debut so they should use it, haha.
They sang another song (I'm thinking it was Saite Ikiyo) (or did they two??), thanked all the juniors and guests at the VIP seats (Miyane-san from Miyaneya!! I had no idea at the concert that who the heck he is but after watching the video clip from the show I understand!! XD) and of course all the fans. After that I was probably dehydrated since I had run out of water at some point and was hungry too, but since it was all-last, I was SURE they're gonna come back to another encore so I kept chanting eito with others. Some people had already given up, probably since they were really tired after 3 and half hours, too ^_^; Some people also left, but they were probably on a hurry to last train or something.
So after some time they did come back!! They sang Osaka Romanesque with all the lights on and we got to sing parts of it too. Osaka Romanesque was the best encore song, I was waiting for it!! And few of them were also shirtless at this point, Yoko too ♥♥ Did they sing another song?? I don't remember anymore!! Anyway, the concert was awesome from the beginning to the end and it lasted for long 3 hours and 35 minutes. お疲れ様でした!!
I had to sit still for another 15 minutes until my section got out. It took a while to get through the crowd to a train to Umeda. Before the concert when I got to Taisho station, there where officers with megaphones telling that people should buy tickets back beforehand since it will be really crowded after the concert, and it WAS! At Umeda I met my boyfriend (who had been waiting for quite a bit T_T) and went to Shin-Osaka and the girls from the concert were everywhere!! We actually missed the last Hikari to Okayama (we had Japan Rail Passes) and had to pay an extra 5000 something yen for Nozomi to Okayama, but it was worth it!! The train was CROWDED with surprise surprise, girls coming from the concert (45000 people is quite a lot!) but we got to sit anyways. We got to our hotel in Takamatsu (yes, Takamatsu) at almost 2am very tired. But I was also so hyper after the concert that I ended up staying awake until 4am.
Tired or not, it was a really happy day for me!!
