The Wine Tasting Dinner @ L'Espalier last evening was a fabulous combination of beautiful wines, wonderful food and interesting people.
It is $55/person, which is a fantastic deal.
Last evening, we had:
First Pairing -- 2004 Stag's Leap, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa w/fiddlehead & artichoke flan w/warm goat cheese and pea tendril salad; sage croutons
Second Pairing -- 2005 Morgan, "Metallico," Chardonnay, Monterey w/poached arctic char and spring garlic risotto w/yuzu-red pepper coulis
Third Pairing -- 2002 Caparone, "Bien Nacido Vineyard," Cabernet Sauvignon, Santa Maria Valley w/braised veal with mushrooms; spring parsnip and sunchoke puree
Fourth Pairing -- Roederer Estate, Brut, Anderson Valley w/L'Espalier cheese course -- Taleggio Vecchia Valsassina and Bayley Hazen Blue
