So I'm re-reading these awesome, awesome SGA musical fics, because I recced them to someone, and of course I drift off into my vague plans to write one of those for Heroes someday, and I start to think about what songs could be retooled for such a purpose, and then bam, a memory hits me like a brick and straightaway I dash off to Google to find the lyrics. A couple years ago, I was in my high school production of Footloose; yes, there's a musical based on the movie, and yes, the musical is rather better than the movie, and yes, our school does quite a good job at performing such things despite our remarkable lack of a budget, and yes, there are some damn good songs in there and one of them made me tear up every night I heard it, and that one's called I Confess, and damned if it couldn't be made into the most Angela Petrelli song there is. Well, okay, change the religious overtones and ditch the sermon at the end but that's what retooling a song is for, and I wish I had a digital copy so you could actually listen to it, because it is quite seriously one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. I got chills just looking over the lyrics. So I guess that cements my plans to write such a thing someday. Huh.
