LJ. Listen to me. I use Tumblr. I love Tumblr. I'll be the first to admit that it has problems--both in base concept and execution--but one of the things I have loved about it is that it lets you turn off one of the base concepts. I hate infinite scroll with a burning passion and I don't even have to struggle with a smartphone, but I can turn it off. I have a nice, readable dashboard that does not freeze up on me for having ten million pictures or send me back up to the top whenever I click a link that opens in the same window. Tumblr acknowledges that not everyone likes one of their main features, so it makes the feature optional.
You want to be like Tumblr, LJ? Be as nice as them, too.
(Which is not something I ever thought I'd say, because, erm, problems in both base concept and execution. See what you have driven me to do, LJ.)
Also I am pretty sure forcing everyone's friendslists to be viewed in the default LJ style rather than their own style is just pulling a dick move for no reason at all? Yeah, that's pretty much it.
