So! Went to Comicon. Took a bunch of pictures. On my cellphone, because my camera broke. Now I do not know how to get the pictures off my cellphone. I can use a USB to plug it into my computer but all it wants to do is sync music and I didn't even know I had music on there and...anyway, my point is, pictures later (or not); here is a post about Comicon!

It is interesting how fandom things can stick in your head. For instance, I glanced at the Bandai/Tamashii Nations booth, and my fannish hindbrain kicked in so hard I was already at the counter with three blind-boxed mini figures of Tiger & Bunny and a question about a Barnaby figure. before I remembered I am not actually in the fandom any more. And then the next day I slunk back and bought three more blind-boxes and, in fact, the Barnaby figure, so. I just wanted to balance out my three Kotetsus! And the blind-boxes were civilian clothes and I managed to not get any doubles although I did not get a tuxedo-Barnaby which was really the second-most one I wanted. (The first being tuxedo-Kotetsu, which I did in fact get, much to my surprise. But I guess a 10% chance sometimes works out in your favor.)

I managed to not buy the 1/8th scale Wild Tiger, though. Even though it for some reason only cost the same amount as the 1/16th figures. Which is probably the cheapest it will ever be anywhere and no bad brain I am not in the fandom any more. Only by the grace of god was I struck by the financial fortune of not being able to go back to the dealers' room on Saturday or Sunday. Well, I say fortune...

...but what I actually mean is that I spent 9:30 AM to 6 PM waiting in line to see the Iron Man 3 panel and then I got cut off about fifty people behind. So, y'know, panel I most wanted to see, panel whose waiting period got in the way of several other panels I could have gone to, panel in which Robert Downey Jr entered from the back of the audience--which is where I would have been--giving high-fives to people. Also I got big sunburns on my arms and face. I'm not bitter.

So not fortune. Well, it saved me money. But saving money on a previous fandom compared to a joyous experience in a current fandom does not really add up in a satisfying fashion.

I did get a Hawkeye figure, though! One of the only two purchasable pieces of movie merchandise for him! So there's that.

tiger & bunny, comicon, the avengers, i like toys, iron man
